Best part about Pine Cone Gallery is that the artist and her husband have converted the rear portion of the studio space to a private bedroom to rent out to Paducah visitors. The artist has moved her studio to the front of the space, and she welcomes visitors to come and see her art, or to participate in workshops. She works in many media, and her paintings and sculpture are on display and for sale. She lived in Hawaii and California before coming to Paducah in the Artist Relocation Program. The bedroom space is private and features a full-size bed and complete bath. A small fridge and a sofa bed can be added to the space if desired. No breakfast provided, but they do give you a coupon for $5 off at the local coffee house a block or so away (Etcetera Coffee Shop is where local artists hang out, and works by local high school students are on display. Good muffins and other baked goods are there, from Kirchoff Bakery.) Cost to stay one night is only $55 for a couple. If you are interested in any of the art work in the gallery/studio, the artist will give you a 50% discount off list price. She and her husband have also authored a book about LowerTown in Paducah, and autographed copies are on sale.
