This is a "must see" if in downtown Louisville. Contemporary art displayed with frequent changes. The best part is it's FREE! Stop in & check the art out. Very cool. Also check out the bathrooms. One of a kind. Will definitely go back.

If you want to visit a museum, and accidentally stay there for the night, this is your chance! Great artwork, excellent selections, variety of mediums and sizes and artists. Just a fun place to wander around and look at the huge photographs on the walls on your way back from the gym! Definitely a little cramped for a wedding venue, but what a great space overall!

A local icon of a restaurant and hotel. Look for the red penguins on the roof. Visit the garden on the roof and the excellent restaurant for lunch. Much more affordable than dinner. Do not miss the art collection in the galleries - especially if you are a fan of modern art. A terrific place to hold an event or wedding.

Better than the Cincinnati location, 21c is the one place in Louisville where I'll send any tourist I encounter. Original, daring, and unapologetic. I love it.

We stayed in a delux room, because we were so impressed with the museum, and wanted to have a special occasion. We thought it was funny that the only art in the room was a black and white photograph. The room was clean and well-appointed. The bathroom was neat because it had a soft black light that gave enoughht light to navigate in the dark. They even supplied a rubber duck and bathrobes. Nice place, and convenient location, but pretty pricey.

I had read that anyone could tour the hotel's art exhibit, so a friend and I did that (along with her 8-year old niece) and we really enjoyed it. Some of the art was a little strange, but it was still fun. Be sure to stop in if you're in downtown Louisville.

Loved the exhibits at the 21c Museum. The galleries were larger and more varied than I had expected. Great way to spend some time in downtown and the best part---the museum is free.

Loved the hotel. No issues or complaints. Was within walking distance to a lot of great restaurants and 4th Street Live.

The hotel and restaurnat are outstanding. They have a really interesting art gallery. A weekend stay is fun. The rooms are modern. Penguins are all over. Worth a stay or drinks at the restaurant.

The hotel is great! We did not stay here but had drinks in the bar and had fun exploring the lobby and art museum. It was a great way to spend a few hours.

I have never stayed at the hotel, but we have eaten at Proof many times, and I have been through the hotel's museum several times. The art and exhibitions change frequently, so make time to go through whenever you're in downtown Louisville. It's free to wander around and look at the art. Sometimes it's down right weird, and sometimes it's really interesting, but it's never boring.

Found it by accident. Went to the bar for bourbon, as part of the Urban Bourbon Trail. Bartender friendly. And he said I should check out the art. Glad I did. Excellent contemporary art. Various techniques are used, many innovative and unique. Well worth the time. See the photos.

We finally stayed at 21c Museum Hotel this last summer. After years of hearing of its fabulousness, we were a bit disappointed. We did not have a bad experience, I suppose we were just expected more. The king room was fine, but ordinary. Decorated in grays, the platform bed a bit beat up but the linens were good. Nice coffee maker. I didn't find this hotel to offer anything beyond other downtown Louisville hotels. I would stay there again if the price was right.
