This is a great, out of the way, throwback ski area. A surprising amount of area, served by few lifts. No express lifts here, but the lift lines are nonexistent so I got in more runs than my legs could stand. The spacing of the trees in the glades is fantastic. We only had about 4in of new snow but still had a great time. With 12in + of powder, this place would be EPIC. With a $24 lift ticket from Liftopia, the smiles/$ here is over the top.

Although snow conditions across the entire West have been lousy this year (winter 2014-2015), LT had great snow coverage. We didn't get to experience the powder this mountain is famous for, but it was still great skiing. There are runs for everyone here and a huge amount of terrain, especially considering how few lifts there are. I took a lesson from the ski school and was so pleased. I skied my first black diamond run after some great instruction. Everyone was friendly and the whole place is low-key. The price per lift is amazing and they even have a one-lift ticket for $5 if you want to access the back country. I can't wait to go back on a powder day and ski the trees.

We have skied Lost Trail Powder Mountain for many years. It is a perfect mountain for all levels of skier. We love the diversity of the skiing for the price. No lift lines and an old school feeling make this mountain a perfect get-away weekend trip. Take a weekend off from the rat race and ski Lost Trail. It'll put a smile on your face for sure.

Overall, this is a fun place to ski. They have long cruiser runs and the snowpack is deeper than other nearby resorts. The downside is that the lifts are separated from each other and a towrope is necessary in 2 locations and all lifts are double chairs only. The food was great and very reasonably priced ($3 for a 12 oz beer and $8.50 for a hamburger and fries). The lift prices are excellent $40, if you are a veteran, half price! Super fun hill.

I was looking for a home mountain ski experience while in Montana on business. I hit LT on a Saturday AM. While the parking lot eventually filled up, I skied on every lift with no wait, was greeted by the attendant each run. If you crave old school burgers, I can recommend the LT burgers. Lodge is friendly crowded, but never saw a grumpy parent or too much attitude. The owners are friendly and visible in the lodge and more than happy to say hi. Watch weather, LT is closed Monday and Tuesday so Wednesday power is untouched for 2 days.

Got dumped on before we went and it made the trip well worth it. First off, this place is a heck of a deal. 2nd, they have a nice long run through trees and also they have a small terrain park thats good. If theres snow you should head here!

We go to Lost Trail every couple of years and I'm reminded why we don't go back. The runs are almost completely unmarked. There are no maps anywhere on the mountain. It's surprising that at the top of Chairlift #1 there is almost no direction to where to go. There's no mountain map at the top of the main chairlift and most runs are either unmarked or have small wooden circles nailed to a tree. We saw one sign today that was a piece of cardboard with black magic marker. It would be easy to get confused and end up on a trail you don't want to be on. The cafeteria is messy. Tables are unwashed. When I brought concerns that skiing is expensive and that this mountain is far less enjoyable because of the lack of marked runs, the customer service was defensive and flippant. "We're working on it," was the main answer. How much do signs cost? Probably less than a lawsuit. Shoot, they could make their own in the off-season. Discovery and other ski places in western Montana try hard to make skiers happy and are great community members.

One of 18 ski hills we hit in a season, we had a lot of fun here. Wasn't a powder day but snow was still good and runs were really fun. I enjoyed the more wild part on the north end of the ski area.

My family tried this darling ski resort for the first time this winter and fell in love. It looked like the parking lot was full and we expected it to be crowded but we never had to wait in lines to get on the lifts. I met some neat folks skiing, one of the original founders/investors of the first ski lift at Lost Trail and he was in his 80"s. I also met a ski pro who works in Aspen . The powder was so fabulous, the skies were sunny and overcast. It started out really cold and warmed up. There is lots of diversity for all levels of skiers, from the bunny slopes to the dare devils. I worked the blues mostly and there were lots of boarders too. Loved best, my ski's and boots that I rented. Best fit ever! The price was fantastic! You go, you gonna love it!

You will enjoy an area that includes lovely mountains, the Bitterroot and Sapphires. Tremendous fishing and hunting and thousand of acres of National forests. Skiing is great and no long lines.

No lift lines, great powder, reasonable food prices! THIS is what we all want out of skiing!!

While staying with friends in Salmon, Idaho, I have skied at Lost Trail on several occasions .... as early as January and as late as mid-March and have always been very satisfied with the experience. Short waits, if any, for lifts, trails for all abilities, reliable snow conditions - frequently better than the "majors" in Idaho, and a $13, all day ticket for those of us over 70.The area is located at Lost Trail Pass on the Idaho/Montana state line.

Great in every respect except one - the ladies at the window selling lift tickets are pretty grouchy. Don't even think of asking for something.
