The view of Butte will take your breath away. The story of the Lady will inspire you. The guide will take your picture so that the face of the Lady is in the picture with you and her arms seem to be embracing you. Be sure and see the video about the making of the Lady and shop in the store before going up to the Lady. The ride up is on a mountain road so don't expect it to be a smooth ride but the views and stories are very worthwhile. Be sure and walk around the bottom of the pavilion. There are paintings and names of women who have died--we found my mother-in-laws name and I didn't know it was there. This is a true memorial to those who built it, the reason it was built, and to women.

Breathtaking. Need I say more? Constructed and erected by a motley crew of amateur volunteers to honor the wish of a husband whose wife was suffering from cancer -now cured, this statue is every bit as awesome as Lady Liberty. Just a tad shorter, to hear the story from the guide, they conceived every bit of its construction, even building a road up the mountain where it is installed. Painted white and lit up for all to see for miles all round it is truly a sight to behold. Even more memorable is to hear the story from those that conceived and built this statue and who are now guides. The passion of their story alone gives you goose bumps, not to mention the personal anecdotes. So go and go now before the live history retire. You will nor regret it.

Our Lady Of The Rockies is a very worthwhile trip. The view of Butte MT standing next to Our Lady is breathtaking. The statue is incredible. Our guide was exceptional. She even sang for us while we were inside Our Lady. The weather was beautiful. We had a great trip. The twinkling lights of Butte at night are something to see.

The ride up and down the mountain is grueling. Once you are there it is wonderful. We had a great time taking pictures of the statue and looking inside. Our guide was involved in the actual erection of Our Lady and had great stories to tell. You meet at the Mall and view a film about the construction and placement of Our Lady and then you exit the mall and are transported up the mountain in a long van. We picked the perfect day, no wind and it was warm even on top of the mountain. Great trip and I would recommend it very highly. Price is right also. The gift shop were you pay for the tour is full of wonderful gifts.

I arrived at the gift shop for Our Lady of the Rockies at 10 minutes to 10; just before the tour was to leave. While the website states reservations are recommended, there was no problem getting on the tour. Our driver and guide Tom was brilliant! A former miner and lifelong resident of Butte, he had stories that entertained us the whole bumpy way up the mountain. Hilarious anecdotes and heartwarming tales made the entire experience extra special. Our Lady herself is magnificent! 90 feet of beautiful engineering coupled with stunning fall views from the top of the Continental Divide. The interior of the statue is humbling and serene. That's all I'll say about that. This is a must see if traveling to Butte.

Did a roadtrip with family across 4States (Idaho, Montana, Wyoming and South Dakota) this summer and I could easily proclaim that going up close with Our Lady was the highlight of our trip. Facilities in the compound is still under construction but just getting up to view the majestic likeness of the Virgin Mary is priceless!Worth a visit and highly recommended!

Haven't you been curious about the glowing white statue on the hill overlooking Butte? Take this very nice tour, learn the story in an exciting video screened in a special room beside the Attraction headquarters at the Butte mall, ride in a van or larger passenger bus out of town and up the steep, winding private road to the statue. Your driver provides you information on the ride. We were lucky to have one of the original construction workers for the project with us as 1 of 2 guides. The guide gives a talk at the base of the statue and helps take your photo. Then opens the statue so you can enter in and see construction, and what can only be called a shrine created by visitors in memory of loved ones. The construction and installation story is fascinating. It goes beyond the obvious faith connection to Mary, the mother of Jesus, and is touted as a memorial for all women. The religious aspect is mentioned, but downplayed. We went Sunday morning and brought a lunch to eat at picnic tables provided by the chapel on the site of the statue, so that we could continue on with more tours in the uptown as soon as we finished at Our Lady. The mall where the tour begins and ends has an Asian resturant and various snack stands. You should bring water on the tou. View of city, working mine, and mountain with forests is very pretty from the base of the statue. It is a nice change from the city.

We took the tour up to our Lady of the Rockies on a Saturday afternoon.Yes there is an impressive statue that means a lot to the people of Butte. Its genesis and construction (well-relayed in a visitors' video) lets you know why it is so important to the community. In addition however, the ride up is an experience all on its own. We rode up in an American school bus, an iconic treat as a visitor from the UK. Our driver was very friendly and her humour was an essential contribution to the journey. The rough mountain track, perilous drop from either side, switch-back bends have to be experienced to be believed. It puts clearly into perspective the enormous amount of work that the community had to undertake to make the project come to fruition. Please do take the trip if you can - it is well worth it.

30 minute video of the making and installation of the Statue followed by a bus ride on a steep gravel road to the top. Awesome view of the Berkeley Pit and Butte from the top. Humbling 90 foot statue with a story. Glad we made the trip. Very memorable.

The ladies history is amazing. How she was built and how she was delivered to her special place at the top of the mountain is unbelievable...The trip up to see her and to stand it her shadow was humbling. The view that is hers everyday is one I will never forget. Such beauty...

The Lady of the Rockies is a statue overlooking the City of Butte. In order to visit the statue, you must take the tour which transports you to the site. The tour starts with a short video about the construction of the statue. We were fortunate to have a tour guide that was involved with the project from the beginning. He was full of information and very friendly. The views of Butte are wonderful.

You don't even need to go to the site- you can see her from all over town. She catches the light in the evening and is a reassuring presence.

the ride up the mountain was fun, a little sketchy at times but quite the interesting event. the statue itself is huge and hard to actually see from up close
