In a town wit more fly shops than bars, this is the best fly shop. They know the area, have great guides and cabins available to rent close to the river. We fished three days with Jake Leeper and I would highly recommend him.The shop has a great selection of merchandise and very friendly staff.

The owners of Headhunter's were helpful before we arrived, and our guide, Jeff, started teaching before we got in the boat. We caught beautiful trout both days we were on the Missouri! Jeff was funny, very knowledgeable about the area, and patient, considering he had to remind me to "mend" every two minutes! Advice: Wear heavier clothes than you think you'll need. The wind was fierce at times. Also, lunch was a hearty sandwich and chips -- delicious -- but if you want health food, you'll need to bring it.

Friendly, helpful, over-the-top service. They were especially helpful when we had a problem with a reel. Of the three fly shops in Craig, Headhunters is the one I would recommend

A truly professional outfit. Our guide Brett Matula was par excellence and without a doubt will be trying to book with him again in the near term. Some guiding experiences are good, others great and this was better. It was a wonderful float trip with so many fish on lines for both my wife and myself. Just back from three days of guided fishing on the Missouri River in Craig, MT. Craig is a town of 36 residents and four fly shops, so you know it's all about fishing. If your goal is to catch trout, big river trout, this is the place to be. Water was running high but we still caught at least ten fish per, with the average size at 18+ inches, and a few over 22 inches. We had three people new to fly fishing, and they did just as well as everyone else. We owe it all to the guides, Peter, Jared, and Nick - were all excellent. They immediately made everyone feel comfortable, were great teachers, laid back, and fun. I've been on a lot of guided trips before and these guys rank at the top. You won't find a better use of your time in Montana!
