Easy walk across the Missouri River in downtown Fort Benton. Scenery of both the levee and shore is number 1!

It was lit up for Christmas and give a great view of the town and the river. It also has some wonderful historical places worth visiting right beside it.

It doesn't go anywhere, but it is absolutely lovely to walk across or sit in the middle on a bench and watch the river go by.

Take your lawn chair and sit on the bridge to watch the Missouri. Maybe sing a little! June, July and August are wonderful times to do this.

There are two; the old one has been converted into a walking bridge and the newer one carries traffic across the Missouri River.Theo old bridge is worth a stride at sunrise/sunset.

Just loved the look of this bridge and how well it is looked after, a great piece of history during a great river walk.

I love the bridge. I walked across it the first day, and then included it in my running the next morning.

Interesting stop to see where some of our rich western history took place. Nice little town a bit off the beaten path of the highway with a lot to offer in the way of a very nice setting, museums, and the old Fort. We did not eat there....so we cannot vouch for meals. The hotel is very nice.

The bridge made for a great evening stroll with the river meandering by below. It was a nice relaxing walk after the drive to arrive in Ft. Benton.

When in Fort Benton walking the historical bridge is a great way to observe waterfowl and become acquainted with the free running Missouri River. Along the river walk there are plenty of posters describing the historical events of the town and the mighty Missouri.

A cool little girder bridge that leads to nowhere... The bridge is quite photogenic - and is ironically best appreciated from the river banks.

Walking on the bridge and continuing on the foot path, you could visualize in your mind the history of the settlers, trappers and Indians and what their life might have been like.

Ft. Benton has several museums including the old fort, but the Northern Plains was above and beyond our expectations. It was off the beaten path (over by the High School), but the exhibits and the "old town" were exceptionally well done. Don't miss it. Ft Benton is a delightful town on the Missouri River with tons of early explorer history, a wonderful park with river access and a great bridge for walking and relaxing.. It is less than an hour out of Great Falls. Definitely worth a day trip.

A nice place to stop and have lunch or take a break for a short walk. Has been refurbished for pedestrians. Benches to sit and relax and just watch the water flow beneath you. The bridge is old but nothing spectacular.

This bridge has spanned centuries and still stands majestically for all to wal out on and view up and down the river. I love this old bridge.
