We agree with the previous review, This is the best local history museum we have ever visited, The displays are beautifully done. The artifacts and period pieces are extensive and displayed in a way that really takes you back in time. DO NOT MISS THE UPSTAIRS EXHIBITS. It's all good but the upstairs is REALLY special.

An amazing collection of artifacts from pioneer times from the towns all around Three Forks, MT has been lovingly assembled by a devoted volunteer history society. The gentleman staffing the museum knew all about local lore and history of each item. Everything is run by volunteers and admission is by donation.Upstairs includes example rooms of a blacksmith's shop, a 1940's school house, a 1950's beauty salon, etc. Downstairs includes antique original books with county records, newspapers, geologic history, minerals from throughout the area, stained glass windows, hand made replicas of local historic buildings, train depots, etc. Train fans would love it here! But a few postcards to help support the work of this very active local history society. They have a website, so look it up.Everything is very nicely arranged considering the volume of artifacts they have there. Friendly spot to learn about all the best things to do in the area.
