We went to Missoula for our 27th anniversary and checked out Bayern. It was obviously a very popular spot with locals and tourist. It was a very comfortable and fun atmosphere. Great, great beer!

Bayern is officially my favorite brewery. I haven't yet tasted a beer of theirs that I don't like. Their brew pub is very cool. There is a large window that you can see a lot of their brewing and bottling equipment. They have some good TV's, and it wasn't very crowded, even on a Friday night. They have these cool little growlers that look like mini kegs, and I would have bought one if we didn't already have bunches of growlers. I filled one of our own with the Oktoberfest that I can't get in Billings, and loved it, just like all the other Bayern beers. Great stop for after-dinner drinks before going back to the hotel.

Ok, I'll admit it, I'm a bona fide hop head. Despite my penchant for the high IBUs, I do appreciate other brews as well. Lagers are take longer to ferment and cost a bit more because cool temps are required to ferment. Not every brewery needs an IPA (even though I love them so). I had the Oktoberfest, which is unfiltered, and darker than most from that particular style. My wife had the weiss beer, also decent. The taproom has a nice atmosphere, the waitress was prompt. Good crowd.

Love the beer but there is a short bartender there I saw when we paid $21 stick the money and $3 tip on this pocket. Hope the manager or owner's catch him. Nice back patio. Well come back again.

The place is ok. If you like German style beer, then it is ok. But very plain beer--no real food but brats. Smoking is allowed outside which is not cool.

We have long been fans of the Bayern beers. We made it a point to stop in at the brewery as we passed through Missoula. It was a Wednesday evening so only the downstairs pub was open. We enjoyed all the selections we tried including a couple that you can only get at the brewery. If you like smooth dark beers this is a don't miss stop.

Take a break from those bitter, hoppy IPAs (yeah,I know everyone else likes them!) and heavy stouts and porters with some refreshing, well-crafted German beers. Generous-sized samples (for a fee) and a limited menu of brats, chips and salsa, and a few bagged chips or nuts. Delicious hefeweizens and pilseners were my favorites. Great atmosphere, but a little out of the way.

25 years of great beer. I love this place and visit whenever I'm in Missoula. The special triple-hop, imperial lager is unique and I was glad to catch it on tap. I missed the Maibock at the brewery, but got lucky at Silk Road restaurant. Another terrific beer.
