Attended a 5k here recently. The park is located about a half hour from Beckley. he snow piles still were on the ground and the creeks and falls were outstanding due to the snow run-off. There were people fishing and some in the campimg area too ~ I need to return in the summer when it is in full glory.

This state park is located off of I77, Nice new play area for the kids. Two waterfalls on either end of the park that are worth the little hike and make great pictures. They offer a camp ground that is spacious and clean. State parks are a must visit.

We stayed for one night in the Mash Fork Campground. It really was a beautiful place... we had a little stream running behind our camp site and were surrounded by beautiful Fall colors. The campground staff was very friendly. The showers and laundry facilities were the best I've seen at a State Campground. We walked up to the little waterfall. It was a nice walk. I would most certainly return and stay longer if given the opportunity.

We were traveling through so didn't spend a great deal of time in the park. What we did see was spectacular. This place is beautiful. Even though it's near the interstate, you'd never know it. The park is ringed by the mountains/hills, and it is quiet and peaceful. My kids stopped to play in a stream with small waterfall, and I kept thinking we should come back to this place. If we stayed longer and saw more, probably would rate it a 5.

Remarkable place to stop and picnic, we set up at one of the many grill sites where the sounds of the creeks calmed our three month old. Fantastic scenic park with adventures for everyone.

Loved the rustic sites! The other spots were a bit crowded for my liking. Easy to get to. Lovely. Rained all through the night. Don't forget your camera.

My wife and I had recently purchased a Casita TravelTrailer and took a cross country trip from New Mexico to Virginia stopping in many states in between. We stayed in many RV parks and forest campgrounds. This state park was by far the best non-commercial park we stayed in. Clean, level sites and the personnel went above and beyond. Should we be in the area again, this will be our park of choice.

My family has held our annual reunion here for decades. It is a beautiful park with a creek running through, foot-bridges to cross, walking trails, plenty of swings, etc. for the children, excellent place for bike-riding. The walk to the waterfall is nice and one that we always enjoy. The only bad experience we have ever had is one at the campground. We stayed there a few years back and the campground manager was a "want-to-be" CIA agent. This guy really loved his job and took it way more seriously than did anyone around him. Constantly driving around the campground in his little golf-cart, stopping by to chat way too often- we were there to relax. Probably one of the worst camping experiences we have ever had. Maybe he has retired and they have hired more professional staff. Just beware if you are planning to camp.

Just a few minutes off of the interstate. Lovely trails, two playgrounds, quiet and clean. I have taken my granddaughter to the park several times after school just to spend the afternoon. They have just installed new bridges to allow more access to the opposite side of the creek. Great waterfall too.

We continued our eastward Journey by stopping at this lovely park in West Virginia. Very friendly staff, very clean restrooms. A nice walking trail to a waterfall, and very interesting woods. Friendly campers, too.

This is one of my favorite parks here in Southern WV. I live only 10 mins away and visit there often. When we have guest stay over ( @ Mavis Manor ) this place is a most for those looking to get a little outside time. We just love how it has stream side trails, and nice up the mountain trails. Always clean, you must visit this park if your in the area!

I've had my family reunion there for years. It's beautiful, family friendly, and a great place to be outdoors. Many waterfalls, and a great place to swim, go horseback riding, bike riding. It's nice for kids there are playgrounds and it's level for the most part so kids won't have trouble biking. Well maintained.

This has been an overnight stop while traveling. It seldom has more than 3-4 of it's sites occupied and it's kept VERY clean. New paving, HOT showers, ample 'pull-thru' sites....and some walking trails. Rates for 'electric only' run just over $20 and 'water+elect' a few $'s more.A fuel station is nearby as well.We were 'creek-side' this past visit, very nice !
