There is not a lot to do in Point Pleasant, WV! I stopped by this museum because it was around lunch and I had time to kill. The admission isn't much but the museum isn't much either. There is a statue of the Mothman outside the museum which makes for a good photo op. The museum is really small and doesn't take long at all to go through. Its a lot of newspapers and letters. I wasn't expecting much and that's how you should approach your visit too. If this is the kind of thing your into, then you'll probably like it but if your like me it was just a way to kill some time.

If you are in the area, you have to go. Everything Mothman! If you don't know the history, you soon will. Don't forget to take your picture with the statue!

We went twice last year. Once in July and again in September during the Mothman Festival. The museum made a total transformation in just 2 months.

I was not impressed. Though they did do their homework. They laid it out nicely and informatively. My family enjoyed this very much. I just am not into those type of things is all. But please go see it and make up your own mind. If it were something to do with history they would have had to lock me in. So just because I am not into the mothman, don't let my opinion sway you. My sister loved it and will go back. Oh and their T-shirts are very nicely priced. I say this as I am a huge T-shirt purchaser from everywhere we visit haha.

This museum dedicated to the Mothman is fantastic. It features lots of original articles and letters concerning both the mothman and the men in black, as well as props and pictures from various mothman movies and documentaries. It's only $3 to go in, and don't forget to pick up your Official Mothman Hunting merchandise on the way out!

MUCH improved over the previous version. The new location is IDEAL! And, the museum itself is... well, MUSEUM QUALITY!!! Excellent layout and even a room for videos/movies. The museum articles are first rate. My favorite - first person, hand-written, original accounts of the sightings! AAA+

We had to be in Charleston and Nitro for business so we had to make the drive to visit the museum. We were not disappointed! We arrived in town early on Sunday morning and it was quiet and completely deserted except for a couple of local folks outside the Lowe Hotel. This was the perfect opportunity to walk around town and take great photos while waiting for the museum to open. You must go on the other side of the town wall along the river and take in the sights as well. The museum was great and worth the nominal charge to get in. Jeff was fantastic to talk to and shared a great deal of information with us. We would like to thank him for the great directions to the TNT area! We drove right to the exact spot we needed to be at! I highly recommend visiting the museum as well as the town/area in general and taking in the history.

I stopped by the Mothman Museum and was thoroughly impressed. It has a huge range of original artefacts related to Mothman and the movie 'The Mothman Prophecies'. Curator Jeremy was very friendly and knowledgable on everything Mothman and the paranormal. A must for any paranormal buff, Mothman or 'The Mothman Prophecies' fan! Will definitely go back if I have the chance.

My husband and I have been to The Mothman Festival in Point Pleasant,WV for the last 2 years now. And I would very very highly recommend this festival, and of course the Mothman Museum to anyone. This museum and the area itself, have SO much to offer; as far as very rich history, a bit of the paranormal, very nice people, and that great feeling that only a small town like this can give you. I LOVE this place, and always look so forward to going back!!

This is our favorite festival, a very fun entertaining festival, visited the new Mothman Museum, was very interesting, went on the hayride to look for the Mothman, enjoyed the pageant and vendors. Don't miss out on this great festival!

This place has it all, from movie props to newspaper clippings, Mothman statues to pose for pictures with, and friendly knowledgeable staff. The museum is stocked with lots of merchandise including books, comics, dvds, shirts, bags, mugs, dolls, badges, etc. The new location is right next to the Mothman statue. No visit to Point Pleasant would be complete without a stop to the museum. I've been here twice, and I highly recommend it.
