Very nice museum complete with a short descriptive film. Very interesting guide. Indian mounds were restored but does not detract from the history there.

We toured both the museums and walked around the grounds including around to the different mounds. It's a very interesting and informative place. We were staying at the Paragon visiting my husband who was working in the area. This wasn't very far from the hotel.

I love historic places it should get great reviews if we take good care of our history we will have people from all over the world wanting to come to Louisiana, so thank you for preserving this.

The history of this site is fascinating and shines a light on some of North America's earliest-known civilizations. The tour is a bit less interesting, however -- our tour guide was VERY talkative -- I think he may have been waiting for anyone to show up and put all of his enthusiasm into our group. Very nice guy, but I tuned out many times during our visit. The small museum has nominal interest, but will deepen your understanding of the site. Finally, you'll tour the grounds with a chance to view the remaining archeological mounds, some of which you definitely could not recognize without prior explanation. A modestly interesting site that will thrill only hard-core history buffs, but if you're in Marksville and have an hour to kill and don't care about the casino, give it a whirl.
