slim's y-ki-ki

I love Slims. Slim's New Years night Zydeco party is an experience zydeco dancers must experience. Festival weekends are good times to go to Slims. This is a traditionally black dance hall. Generally the races mix well here and I have always felt welcome,except once when Kieth Frank was playing . The crowd was mostly young, and were pretty rude to me as an outsider. But I see that an an exception. I've been there on many occasions and have always had a good time. Pork is cooked in a large smoker out in the yard and the sandwiches made are excellent. It's a very good Louisiana experience.
