We stopped off en route to Natchez and went out on a slow boat (with 150hp outboard!)Tour was 1:45hr and we saw a couple of young gators, hogs. Herons, egret and raccoon.Best sightings of gators is when it's warmer!Nice informative tour

This was a lot of fun. They were very friendly and they had a great sense of humor. They let us hold a small alligator. The ride was awesome.

First swamp tour and had a blast. Saw a bunch of gators and turtles. James made us laugh the entire time and he knew what he was talking about. Would for sure do it again.

An opportunity to get up close and personal with the alligators which come right up to the boat. From 3 feet to 13 feet. We did not expect them to come so close but they were enticed with little treats on a stick (marshmallows and hot dogs) which they seem to sense as soon as the boat guide brings them out. We also saw wild pigs and turtles and a very large ugly spider, and lots of cats wandering the property. Our guide was very amusing and made the entire experience fun.

We took the Cajun Critters Swamp Tour with my family that was in town from Maryland. We had a wonderful time and I would totally recommend it for old and young alike. A leisurely boat ride with beautiful scenery. I cant believe that I have lived here for 7 years and have not done this yet. I cant wait to go again and take some of my other family and friends. Capt. James was awesome, he is very funny and very informative, joking with adults and kids alike. Honestly, I thought it was going to be terribly expensive but I was very wrong. It was a little more than $20 per person for a 2 hour boat tour and dont forget to stop at the shops when you leave then have some really wonderful local good including cracklins (Yummm) they will cook them fresh for you and were delicious and dont forget about the fresh local seafood! If you dont do any other day trips you must do this it is awesome! Oh... and if you are concerned about the sun and it being too hot... the boat is covered so you can stay in the shade if you want.

The tour was very enjoyable and we learned a lot! The captain had a great sense of humor and extensive knowledge of the gators and the area. We would definitely do this again.

I have been to New Orleans many many times and in every stay there I have gone on a different swamp tour. All told I have been on 7 different swamp tours now, 3 tours through the Barataria, 2 tours in Lafitte La, and 2 at Honey Island. With that being said the Cajun Critters tour through Honey Island Swamp was by far the BEST TOUR I HAVE EVER BEEN ON!I think the aspects that set this apart from other tours is first the smaller more agile boat. The tours i have been on on the big 40-50 passenger boats were not as fun and could not get as deep into the swamp...they may not be as fast or as versatile as the airboat tours I went on, but it was close and besides airboat tours would not allow my 2 young children.Second was the swamp itself, which far beat tours that float through canals, not swamps!!Lastly was Bishop, our tour guide. I have had great tour guides in the past, one great one that comes to mind is Capt Bozo out in the Barataria, but Bishop was npt only as funny as Bozo, but he was way knowledgeable and very open to answering ALL of our questions and offering up his wealth of knowledge!!So take it from me and my 7 DIFFERENT SWAMP TOUR perspective. This is the best swamp tour around!!!

I guess we should have known better but don't bother doing these tours in winter time as we did not see any alligators except for the head of one for about 2 seconds. The captain was very knowledgeable.

We booked this through our hotel and we loved it. Our tour guide was very funny and informative. We seen a lot of alligators and a snake basking on a tree stump. The highlight was to see the 13.5 foot gator on the bank of the swamp. We also saw various birds and turtles.

My wife and I took this tour and it was great. James was knowledgeable and lots of fun and I will go again when in the area. I thought it would be more remote but once you cleared the lock, you.couldn't tell you were that close to"civilization". Good value!

My family and I took the Cajun Critters swamp tour with Captain James this past weekend and we had an absolute blast! Captain James was very knowledgeable and funny throughout the tour. We saw many alligators and other wildlife including a blue heron! This was a very exciting tour at an unbeatable price. I recommend it to anyone who visits New Orleans. Excellent!

Myself and five family members recently took the Cajun Critters Swamp Tour while in New Orleans. Let me begin by saying that the tour is more than worth it and the price is unbeatable. Captain James guides the tour with a knowledge that you can only get from someone who really knows the swamps. We felt safe the whole time. We saw many alligators as well as other wildlife in their natural habitats which was priceless! Awesome tour! Definitely a must when visiting New Orleans! We will return.
