Firstly- I understand that some have left some really harsh reviews, so I'd like to take a different take. Firstly, in regards to the 4/5 star reviews, I have no idea how you get that as it doesn't compare to 4/5 star places. People visiting- as we did- need to understand that this isn't an actual 'zoo' and that you could easily do the entire place in not even 30 minutes- and that is no rush either. If you are a local- it's a fun place to bring kids as it is basically a petting zoo with a few exotic animals thrown in- like camels/zebra and it has bounce houses etc etc- I have no doubt that local kids have regular fun here- the place isn't a dump or badly managed. If you are a tourist- it's not a 'tourist attraction' per say- I don't see the point of stopping here as we did unless you have nothing else to do in Shreveport since you've already been to the other main attractions- like the 8th Air Force Museum and Sci Port Center. I think that is why you have reviews all over the place- it's not a tourist attraction in my opinion, but for locals- they go and have a nice time since this is the only such place to go of it's type around the city.

My idea of a zoo and their idea is 2 totally different things. Way over priced to see a few animals that takes about 10 minutes. Staff was friendly but the kids were disappointed we left so soon because we were done within 30 minutes.

We have visited Jubilee Zoo a few times and I even planned a couple of my children's class fall field trips here as well. We have made some great memories at Jubilee Zoo. They have a large covered area with bounce houses, picnic tables, a couple of animals you can pet, hayride through their little safari where the few animals they have come up to you for food, play ground, etc. A great place to let the little ones run around and play. We have never experienced anything less than a great time here! The owners are very nice people and very accommodating!

Thank you so much for your review! We love to hear when we are doing things right. Your good reviews give us the encouragement we need to continue putting our all into entertaining your families with our facility and furry friends. Your positive input helps us know we are on the right track as we keep investing to grow Jubilee Zoo.

While we appreciate that you take the time to review our services, we would prefer that you come to us in person so we can address your issues. Jubilee Zoo is set up as a family entertainment venue. You don't expect to be guided personally around Six Flags or Chucky, I assume. We are more than happy to respond to questions about our animals or entertainment options if you would like to know what to do at Jubilee Zoo - just ask us up front. We do not have the budget to hire guides for our guests and are putting all of our current revenue into maintaining and building our facility. We are operating on a negative budget and have been financing our community offering primarily from our personal resources. We have not, to date, been able to pay ourselves any salary whatsoever and work 60 + hour weeks in order to properly maintain the animals and facility. Yes, we do have an upcharge for EXTRA OPTIONAL feed,.. This allows us to limit overconsumption of feed by the animals and allows us to keep low our admission price which includes a free feed cone. We are currently trying to gather resources for additional bathroom facilities as well. Please keep in mind that it is not reasonable to demand unadvertised services while complaining about the prices to a business that is operating at a loss until a larger customer base can be reached.

This is a great place to take your children or grandchildren for a daily outing, and a must for visitors in town on vacation. I didn't even know we had this available in our area. We took a large group of kindergarten children. My only suggestion would be for them to add more bathrooms to accommodate large groups. Especially schools. Bathroom time was a little long especially for little ones that don't wait very well. The zoo is organized into different stations and our group rotated every 30 minutes. It was wonderful! The children stayed busy and had a great time. There is also a nice covered pavillion with picnic tables we were allowed to use for lunch. (we brought sack lunches) The hayride is a must! The animals were very tame and friendly. The animals came right up to the trailer and the children loved feeding them using the large scoops provided by the park. All of the animals looked very well take care of and you can tell the owners have a true passion for caring for them. (You can also tell the owners like children!) The bouncy houses were a big hit with our group, but having the opportunity to feed the animals and pet a baby goat was very exciting. Seeing the chicken house was fun for the children, one of the hens had laid an egg! They even got to see an Easter egg with the Bunny! (It might have belonged to one of the hens but the Bunny was guarding it !!!!) Great Field trip for 5 year olds.

Excellent and very fun to visit. My 22 month old daughter had a blast feeding all the different animals, and the employe doing the hay rides let her pet and take pictures with the month old baby goat. She loved feeding the zebra, horses, and camel on the hay ride and they let you stay out there basically as long as you want. Way better than your typical petting zoo at the zoo or fair. The employees are super nice. I will definitely make the trip from fort polk again.Don't mind the negative reviews. The only thing I could possibly say is gross is a abounded barn that's falling down on the other side of the zoo fence. There's no way of getting over there so it's not even an issue.I can't wait to take my daughter back.

We visited with our toddler (18-mo) and spent very pleasant 2-3 hours there. Perfect for little kids, and interesting enough to keep adults entertained too. Camel and zebra were big favourites for our little one. Friendly folks that run the place, took time to explain what we should do to get the best from our visit. As others have said, it's a fairly compact place, and not to be compared to city zoos which would suit an all-day experience.

Thank you for sharing that you had a good time when you visited with us. We love to hear when we get it right. We also appreciate your concern about our animals. You must not be aware that Jubilee Zoo often acts as a shelter for unwanted/mistreated animals. Tarzan, the parrot, was sadly neglected and abandoned in a warehouse prior to coming to live with us. He plucked his feathers as a form of self-stimulation because he had no companionship. He now regularly interacts with people and has stopped plucking but his feathers will never grow back. The Kangaroo, One-eyed Jack, sadly lost his eye to an unfortunate run-in with a tree branch. He has had no complications with it since moving to Jubilee Zoo several years ago. It is unsightly (no pun intended) but Jack still likes to visit and we still plan to keep him on display. As to pony hooves, all I can say is that the farrier is here every 6 to 8 weeks (unless he forgets, is sick, or has a fire - he's a firefighter in his real job) he is great with the ponies so we are willing to wait on him if we need to.Again, thank you for your visit and we are glad you had a good time.

We loved the zoo, and plan to make a trip back this falls for the pumpkin patch. My little guy is 19 months and it was perfect for his age. He loved all of the animals, but the goats were his favorite. Will definitely be considering for birthday parties in the future!

This is a small zoo with a lot of animals. My 2 year old granddaughter loved it. You can feed some of them

We chose Jubille Zoo for our son's first birthday. We have visited other petting zoos in the area and this is now our favorite! Both of my son's enjoyed the bounce houses. They have large ones for the big kids and a toddler house for the wee ones. My one year old could play around in it (albeit, clumsily :). They fed the goats and other animals. We went first thing in the morning so we were the first ones (and only ones) on the hayride... boy was that camel hungry!! All the animals came right up to eat. The kids loved it! They also have a small gift shop and snack stand. We will certainly make several return visits!

Absolutely LOVE jubilee zoo! Took the family there Sunday afternoon after church (as they are closed in the morning on Sundays) and we had a blast. My 3 year old loved getting to feed the animals and milking the goats :) they have a cute little gift shop as well. The hayride was fun as the animals all crowded around to be fed. Just watch out for the camel because well... She is a pig lol. She will eat the whole bucket of feed if you let her! Overall my experience was great! Glad to know that they have a water slide too so that next time I will know to bring the swimsuits for the babies! For it being a place with a bunch of animals I was surprised at how clean it was. I will deinantly be taking the family back soon! GREAT PLACE :)

We've returned from our 2nd Birthday at Jubilee and it was a lot of fun! It was very hot, but, the fans and misters made it much cooler. The animals all looked good and well cared for and everything is kept up nice. The kids had a wonderful time. We will be back again for sure.
