Stress relief from the daily grind from Atlanta! Worth the 3 1/2 hour drive! Great fun with old and new friends! Great Pot lucks and breakfast at the club house! Would still be going but I have parked my 5 th wheel at a campground 1 1/2 hours away from Atlanta. Give Lizard Landing a try! You will get addicted! Happy Trails to you!

Long weekend at the Lizard, everyone had a fantastic time. People baking in the sun poolside, amazing food and entertainment. When the sun got to be a bit much, it is nice to be able to take a refreshing dip in an incredibly clean salt water pool and cool off.The campground is fairly new. Open for two years now. If you don't visit often, you'll be amazed by the progress that the crew at the Lizard have made in that short time. Adding amenities and expanding the campground to improve for your next visit. On holiday weekends the campground fills up fast with folks driving from places like Atlanta, New Orleans and further just to spend time with their "chosen family". Book your stay early to ensure you have a spot for your camper or a cabin. Cabins are new and very clean! The Saturday pot-luck dinners are awesome! Everyone in the campground and a few folks from town show up for these. When you here the expression "Danger, Men Cooking" you know you are in for a treat at this place. Homemade apple dumplings don't have a chance of survival here. :-) Having Free WiFi in the campground is a big plus! At some places I've camped in the past, you have to go to either an club house or the office to get on the internet where anyone can look over your shoulder and see what you are up to. At the Lizard, I was able to check email and do some banking in the comfort of my own camper.I plan on being here sometime during the month of October so I can partake in the "Hey! Rides to Columbia Manor", the haunted house right across the river from the campground. I hear that it is really HAUNTED! Very much looking forward to that trip.

The best thing about this campground is the hospitality of the owners and staff. Everyone makes you feel comfortable and right at home like an extended family. The cabin we stayed in was perfect and had just what you needed. If you stay on a Saturday, you have to participate in the pot luck dinner. There is always delicious food. It's a great place to relax and enjoy the outdoors. We will definitely be back again in the Fall!

Looking for a fun getaway where you can chill and relax? This is it! The drive from my home town of Tallahassee is pretty and easy 4 lane passage. It feels like you're headed to the foot hills when you get close to the campground. A great place to UNPLUG!

Just got back from a fun-filled weekend at the Lizard...had an absolute blast and met some great new guys! The theme this weekend was Greek...had some fantastic Greek-inspired culinary treats at the Saturday night potluck dinner, and then got dressed up for the toga party. Lots of guys got in the spirit and dressed up in Greek/Roman costumes...some of them very creative! This wasn't a major holiday weekend like Memorial Day or something like that, but you'd have thought that it was given the size of the crowd...lots of good looking men! The pool area was a constant party, and a ton of fun all weekend long. So nice to see all the new faces, and of course all the regulars as well. Truly a great crowd, and a great time!

My partner and I stayed at the Lizard Landing this weekend. We rented a camper. It was prestine clean, and everyone (the locals included) were so friendly. If you're looking for a great weekend get a way, then this is the place! They hold a potluck Saturday evening around 6:30 p.m. and everyone that's camping all bring a dish to pass. There's so much food and laughter going on that sometimes all the food doesn't get ate up. My partner and I WILL BE coming back and we're proud to be members of this campground! The owners are so loving and very hospitable. It's a growing campground and we're so ecstatic to be a part of this loving family and community!

Not sure what "David J" is talking about...I go to Lizard Landing nearly every weekend and it's a great place filled with truly wonderful people. You'll never find a more friendly crowd...doesn't matter if you go there every weekend or if it's your first time, everyone is made to feel welcome and a part of the family. I've had lots of interaction with Gregg, the co-owner mentioned in that suspiciously bad review from "David J", and Gregg's consistent outpouring of gracious hospitality is unrivaled in this industry. There's also lots of space for those who aren't perms, as well as cabins and other rentals, so again, not sure what "David J" is talking about (sounds like the desperate attempt by a business rival to smear a superior campground!!). At any rate, Lizard Landing Camp is a little piece of gay paradise on Earth, which is why I love going there so much, and it doesn't hurt that so many of it's patrons are such good cooks!! Whether you're older or younger, thick or thin, or whatever else, you'll feel the warm glow of comradery and good times at Lizard Landing Camp.

Evidently the guy who wrote the bad review has never been to Lizard Landing campground, I go monthly, its a great place to get away from the city life, its on a river and its so piecefull and there is no drama like at Spring Creek, its also Much cleaner and things are kept up and not ran down and in disrepair like Spring Creek is, Check them out for yourselves and you will see how much nicer Lizard Landing is compared to Spring Creek, Hell you cant even get your trailer in to spring creek with out it almost tipping over and if it rains the place floods constantly and there are sewer leaks through out, thats all you smell at spring creek. There are no clicks at the Lizard nor is the host drunk and trying to ravish guests, he does drink but then we all do, its the weekend. If you don't believe me just go check out Spring creek but before you even get into the gates look at the owners trailer to your left, its about to fall down with tarps on roofs and etc, I can go on for ever, And yes I was a former member of Spring creek until the owner stole from me and has yet given it back. And he also charges everybody differant rates, if he thinks you have money then he will charge you more. Hell check out his criminal history, he doesn't take credit cards becouse the merchant banks cancled his accounts with credit cards due to fraudulant activity with guest members credit cards. He also states he has a heated swimming pool its heated by the sun rays when the sun is out so you cant use it until the mid summer

I really enjoy visiting Lizard Landing. It is small and limited on amenities, but it is new and growing/expanding rapidly. The best feature of this place is its community. That is what you go there for. The people are great and a good time is guaranteed! I would definitely recommend this campground to everyone. I live 2 hours away and go out of my way to visit whenever I can.Oh, and they have a salt-water pool, which is WONDERFUL. Anyone that has experienced a salt-water pool will tell you that it is far superior to chlorine.

We stopped by for an over night but stayed two nights instead. Had a wonderful time, on a weekend. Pot luck on Saturday night was great. The hosts were very accommodating to our needs. We were welcomed with our dog and cat too. We stayed there in a 38 ft. Class A motor home. Will stop again if in the area with out any doubt.

Lizard Landing Camp is, in my opinion, the very best gay campground in the southeast. It's relatively new, but in the past year the owners - who are absolutely the most friendly and hospitable people that you'll ever meet - have really made the place truly fabulous. On the property, they have a fantastic clubhouse and pool area, rental cabins and campers, lots of RV spots with full hookups, primitive tent sites, a creek-side dock for boating and fishing, and a playroom. The Omussee Creek is huge for a "creek" - it's really more of a little river - and the creek empties directly into the Chattahoochee River, which is a fairly impressive river. The people who camp here are also fantastic...truly a great bunch of folks. The regulars are very welcoming, and they'll make you feel right at home. The potluck meals are always something to look forward to, as are the evening campfires. The town of Columbia, in which the campground resides, is very supportive of the campground and very welcoming to its guests...which is both amazing and wonderful considering it's a small town in Alabama. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who's looking for a fun and relaxing stay in the gay woods!

Two miles from the friendly little town of Columia, Alabama and 18 miles NE of Dothan is a wonderful new clothing optional private membership campground. Primarily gay, the owners and guests welcome all open-minded visitors. Owners Les and Gregg are fabulous hosts who introduce everyone . . .there are no strangers here. Currently, the 11.5 acre site offers 25 RV sites with 30 or 50 amp service, city water, and sewer hookup and some cabins on the wooded property that is bordered by a creek that feeds into the Chattahoochie River, so bring your boat. Also on site is a gorgeous, large, in-ground saltwater pool, trails, and an ancient Native American burial mound (orb sitings have been reported). Pot luck meals are awesome! Everyone is truly like family here. Visit the Lizard's Facebook page for more information. What are y'all waiting for? Make your reservations, make some new friends, and be a Lizard. Plan early, especially for holiday weekends, because this place is already quite popular.
