Big, wide open space for the puppies! Lots of water, but the City could stand to improve it for the humans. Should we HAVE to bring our own chairs? How about some covers like the one out by Indian Creek?

Discovered this park on tripadvisor and took our miniature schnauzers on Sunday at lunchtime. There were at least a dozen dogs of various sizes already there having a blast. We sat and watched our pups explore the fenced confines of the small dog area before they eventually came for water on this sunny day. Owners and their pets came and went and for a while we enjoyed watching a big lab cool himself off in a kiddie pool. We didn't see any posted rules anywhere but found some online here: http://www.hsvcity.com/animal/dogpark/index.htmlAnyone visiting from out of town should note that the visitors center is right next door on Church ST. If you have a dog you want to socialize with other animals, this is a great place to do it.

It is a large park for man's best friend. They have a side for small dogs and a side for large dogs and water is available to rinse your dog off and also for drinking. There is a chanlink fence around the park and separating the two dog areas. The dogs love being off leash and playing with the other dogs while you watch them and also socialize with other dog owners.

...and great for doggy socialization! Well maintained, grass and gravel dog park. Separate grassy park for small dogs. It's an extremely large area for dogs to explore or romp with each other. Two benches for humans. Shade available under highway and a few trees. Please feel free to refill buckets with clean water while you are there!

One of the better parks in the area! I've found it helpful while fostering dogs!

Thank you Huntsville for offering a dog park. Very large area for the dogs to run. There is a large dog area and then a separated area for the smaller dogs. They have even supplied poop bags, several trash cans placed around, buckets of water and a hose to clean the dog before leaving.

My lab starts to whine when we turn off the Parkway at University 'cause she knows where she's going. A great place for her to socialize with her friends and a good time for her driver as well. A great way to spend an afternoon with other like minded folks!

Kudos to Huntsville for giving us a great dog park! It's a wonderful use of what is otherwise wasted space for the city (under the overpasses). There are 2 very large fenced areas, 1 for large (over 25 or 30 lbs) and 1 for small (under 25 lbs). My 2 beagle mix puppies LOVE to go and play with new friends! Everyone, human and puppydog, is very friendly and it's a great place to go for some fun socialization. As the other reviewer said, you can bring your own chair, or there are benches there. Bring your own toys if you want, if you won't be upset if another doggie "claims" it for play. You can find it again when you leave, LOL. Water is available now, and buckets to fill and distribute. It does get hot, there is some shade, but not a lot, so think about going earlier in the morning during summer...Oh, and if your dog is extremely skiddish, be careful, there is a train track nearby. We once met a friend with a dog (we had no idea she was afraid like that), but the train whistle unnerved the poor sweetheart and she could never really calm down after that... Just a thought.Check out their website for rules, etc. of the park
