We took our grand daughter and grandsons on two different occasions. The butterfly house is a wonderful place and all three kids (and the older kids) loved the tree houses. The Pirate ship was a big hit with all.Nice also with just the two of us to stroll and enjoy/learn about the plants. The walking tour for the Festival of Lights in early December was a special treat.

No matter what time of year, the Gardens always please. Strolling there is wonderful, even in summer heat there is shade and there are spots to cool off in the water. You walk up and experience all the sights and smells close up, and there is an incredible amount of variety. Children adore this for hours easily without getting bored, and there is always something being added. The army of volunteers does an amazing job caring for everything. The last 2 times I visited I was surprised that the Butterfly Pavillion had fallen off substantially, looks like it's in need of some TLC. This is a fantastic place to visit for half a day or so if you're ever in Huntsville.

Several opportunities to visit per year, there's always something going on. Winter is great for the festival of lights, and spring and summer offer butterflies and flowers. If you want to spend a few hours in a quieter setting around town, hard to beat the Botanical Garden.

During the month of Nov, the local community creates their own variations of scarecrows. They are placed all around the garden, showing off all the creativity our community possesses. The ages range from daycare to seniors. It's amazing the ideas that are displayed.

We have lived in Huntsville for five years and have treasured this jewel in our midst from the beginning. An enthusiastic staff, the Board of Directors and many volunteers work tirelessly to bring our community well thought out programs, education for our young people and others. The business community helps with continuing donations to enhance our quality of life. It offers dog owners a place to walk with their dogs enjoying all seasons. Trails are well marked for birders in the migrating time of year. The on premise restaurant Clementines offers delicious light lunches. You have your choice of eating inside or out with or without umbrellas. The gift shop has reasonable pricing and offers discounts at various times throughout the year. The Garden is truly outstanding in its scope for its size. The yearly holiday Galaxy of Lights is not to be missed and is their biggest fundraiser involving hundreds of volunteers who believe in making this Botanical Garden better each and every year. Take your children in the fall for the Scarecrow Competition by local groups. Sign up for their newsletter. You won't be disappointed !

The Botanical Gardens in Huntsville Al are beautiful. You are able to take your time and stroll around and let the kids run and play. Very relaxing

The garden is large enough that you can easily spend all day and not see it all! It's gorgeous and is the perfect retreat after work or on the weekend!

Our realtor gave us a family yearly pass for the Botanical Gardens as a housewarming gift when we bought our house in Sept. We have gone numerous times since and love it. It was gorgeous in the fall, so I can hardly wait to see it in the spring and summer. We have even leased one of their venues for our daughter's upcoming summer wedding reception. We will definitely be renewing our membership when our gifted year is up. I highly recommend a membership here. You even get 10% off items in the gift shop and special discounts throughout the year. Their tour of lights was spectacular in Dec, too.

We did the Galaxy of lights around Christmas time. It was beautiful and only $20 per car. We go every year.

I come here at different times thru out the year. Keep you eyes open for the special events they have and you will not be let down! Great people there very helpful and they really know their stuff.

The Galaxy of Lights was the most beautiful and original display our family had ever seen. We were a caravan since we had 8 family members. Our 3 year old great grandson was thrilled and the rest of us just amazed by the hundreds of unique characters and themes presented. Bravo to the artists and technicians who created this wonderland. We will definitely plan on this again.

While visiting relatives, we went to the Galaxy of Lights Christmas display. We have been to a lot of these kind of lighting displays including Callaway Gardens, Stone Mountain and others. The GoL is the most expansive, interesting and fun of them all. The reserved FM station with Christmas music is a bonus. You can't go wrong. It was fu. For us with one teen, with younger kids it would be a ton of fun and for $20 per car, great value.Just do it!!!!

So glad we added this side trip to our recent trip to Huntsville on Chtistmas day. All ages loved it. The volunteers did a terrific job with music. We lost count of the number of displays ;it was first rate. A plus was the nearness to 565..

It was great! We went on 12/25/14, and it costs $20 per car. You drive through a path of light displays sponsored by local businesses. It was beautiful!
