Thouroughly enjoyed the Jake Owen concert with my 16 year old son. It was hot, hot, hot but Jake Owen put on a heck of a show so it was all worth it.

The Tuscaloosa Amphitheater, located near the Black Warrior River, is a great place to enjoy a concert. The sound is really good and each seat has an excellent view of the stage. Problems can arise when the weather does not cooperate and concerts have been delayed due to downpours. If the deep South heat is in full force, the amphitheater can be pretty uncomfortable. The concerts have all been scheduled at night, so with the exception of extremely hot days when temperatures remain sultry even after dark, the breeze from the river keeps the crowd comfortable. The amphitheater is known to be one of the best of it's kind in the South and the variety of artists booked in 2014 was extensive. One of the perks Tuscaloosa has initiated to make the amphitheater experience even better is the free running of shuttle buses from the Intermodal facility parking garage downtown. So, one can park free, be dropped off right at the main entry gate, and be picked up at that same spot following a concert. Since parking is scarce close to the amphitheater, this service makes the experience an even better value.

I was given box seats for the 4th July concert and fire works. the box seats are own by company so they are not available to the general public, but they are the best seats in the house. They also come with waiter service. The general public sits below or above the box seats. The area below is flat and normal chairs. The area above is stadium seats, from what I saw there is not a bad seat in the house.

Lots of performances are booked during the year. They put thought into attracting different kinds of groups for different audiences. The amphitheater itself is new, clean, well-designed, and well-maintained. Think ahead about parking. Plenty of parking is available within a reasonable walk and there is usually bus shuttle service to a parking deck downtown, but everybody can't park at the front door.

Have been to several shows here like Widespread Panic,Steely Dan, and others. The background is amazing with the warrior river and the old railroad bridge which is still active. Sometimes a river barge passes by giving it a real good feel. Tuscaloosa Police are very helpful and I have never seen them harass anyone even at the panic show, I am sure they do not want to screw up this wonderful venue. if there is ever a performer you like playing then GO! This place is a blessing.

The amphitheater is the blessing of Tuscaloosa. Everyone enjoys the shows and we are all so thankful to have the stage and platform to host the talents. Go every chance you have. Traffic is managed very well by Tuscaloosa police, food and services are great.

Great new venue near the University of Alabama. Really nice concession stands and the ticket takers are always very pleasant when entering. Have been there many times and have seen several really great shows there.Highly recommend !!

August 16, 2014: The amphitheater is very nice! The bathrooms were great, the concessions selection was good too. My only complaint is the smoking section. The people who sit in the balcony seats in section 205 will have to battle the smokers. I enjoyed the concert but it was interrupted by all the smoke!

My first time there was for the Fantasia concert. Was surprised at the facilities, also impressed with the police was handling traffic, free parking and speed that staff entered peoples through the gates. No bad seats as there are two screens on each side of the stage. I actually like sitting in what was called the balcony as those closer to the front of the stage tend to stand and block other views. Planning on attending another concert next month.

I have now been to two concerts here and I can say I am truly impressed. There is not a bad seat in the house. Even in the 'balcony' as they call it it is truly great! The sound is great, the bathrooms are clean and my favorite part is that there is a ton of room between rows and each seat has a cup holder! This is a great place and whoever designed it needs commendation!

We had the best time! This town Tuscaloosa is truly visitor friendly! The concert was July 3rd and Mary J's performance was 5-Star and we had the best treatment by the staff....Jessie and Erica Thanks! The seats were very comfortable and there is not a bad seat in the house! We went there for the orchestra and the fireworks on July 4th and it was fantastic! We will visit Tuscaloosa again for a game or a concert.

All seats are great and the concessions and staff are super. The venue is well run and well maintained-- love the atmosphere and easy to get to.

Not sure what to expect on our first time but it was much nicer than expected. It is about a 2 hour drive from our home but worth it for the concert we attended. Very hot in late August, even at night, but that is the south.

I'm an avid concert goer and was so happy that they finally built an amphitheater in town. I've been to a good numbers of shows here and have had good experiences so far. The concessions lines move kind of slow, but I'm definitely pleased with the restrooms here. I've been to much larger venues that have fewer bathrooms and it makes the wait ridiculous. Can't wait to see who they bring to town in 2014.
