I was very impressed with this zoo. It was well maintained and had a variety of animals. I was surprised that you can be hands on with some of the animals. Definitely worth a visit if you are nearby!

This zoo was the perfect size for our 3 little boys. Great animal encounters. We enjoyed the Kangaroos. The young lady working at the Kangaroo encounter was very informative about the animals. Great place to visit that wont take up the entire day.

I took my four children ages 12 to 3 there for something to do while we were at the beach. We are members of the Birmingham Zoo and have visited various other zoos in the southeast. This zoo was just OK in my opinion. It seemed somewhat "tired" and run-down. We did pay the extra money to pat the kangaroos in their pen---the highlight of the excursion. If you like to pat animals (and have the $$$) it could be a really nice memory. We bought tons of food to feed the animals, but found out that it could only be used in the farm animal section. We had tons left over. I would suggest one cup of food for every two children. The reptile house was very small and claustrophobic. It almost seemed amateur compared to others we've seen. It was very full of people so we could never get a good look at any of the snakes, etc. Kind of frustrating when you have small childre. I was afraid I might lose my 3 year old in there with all the people. I was more than ready to get out of there.Overall, the zoo was fun, but the kids were hot and bored within two hours. I'm not sure that was worth the expense it took to get in....

Recently visited this zoo for the first time and was really impressed. The grounds are kept very nice and the staff were extremely accommodating while being super friendly. Now the zoo itself is really more half petting zoo, half normal zoo. Don't go expecting to see some of the animals you would see at larger city zoos. The benefit of this being a smaller zoo is that you really can get close to the animals which makes for a great experience. Definitely give the zoo a visit.

Love it affordable animals well taken care of people and workers were wonderful for a little extra money get to have animal encounters I had teenagers and they loved it as much as the younger ones

This is a must see when you are in the area. Unlike larger zoos, you can get up closer to the animals. There is a larger variety of animals than you would expect for a zoo this size also. Good value.

The price is affordable and the animals great. You just walk around and get to see so much. It's a very clean zoo and pretty foliage. We visit there every year since it opened which I guess is twice but will be going in March again when our kids come down.

We had a very pleasant experience at the zoo. We have 2 toddlers that we used a one of the zoos wagons to get them around. They were able to look at most of the animals even being seated in a wagon. They loved being able to feed the animals. Great experience!!!!!!

We spent a couple hours here in February, 2015. They take very good care of all the animals and have a huge assortment of them. It was fun and I have no regrets. The lemurs and lots of others are very friendly. Awesome reptiles too.

Very nicely done zoo for such a small town. Nice variety of animals, with lions and I believe Siberian tigers being one of the highlights - though those guys made my father-in-law nervous. Lots of other animals, reptiles and fowl as well. Can't wait for the new location to open.

Took my daughter's family with10 y/o twins boys to the the zoo on a cool day The zoo here is clean, easy to walk around and not miss anything. We spent extra to go in the lemur cage and kangaroo in closure. The lemurs were definitely worth the money. They crawled all over us and licked daughters face. They like makeup. The boys now want either a lemur or a monkey.

We were not expecting much, but this little zoo exceeded our expectations 10 fold! Fairly priced. Great exhibits! We are a family of 4, including 2 daughters, 17 and 15 years old. They loved it. Black Panthers, Tigers, Lions, Leemers, an awesome Bear, Camels, Wolves, Kangaroos, Birds of all types, and much, much more! Only takes 1-2 hours.
