Ok, so let me start by saying I messed up, I scheduled an all day whitewater rafting and king salmon fishing trip down the Tonsina river. We agreed upon a Thursday but somehow I had gotten it into my head that it was on Friday, probably because that was the day I originally wanted to do it, so I wrote it down wrong in my calendar. Long story short, I missed my trip so I called them and they informed me that they did not have another trip planned down the class IV rapids of the Tonsina for at least a week. They happily rescheduled me for a half day trip down the Klutina River on Friday instead. I was disappointed to say the least but happy to salvage what I could of my trip. Everyone on the trip had a good time and caught several Sockeye "Red" Salmon each. The guides were expert in teaching even the most novice fisherman/woman in how to successfully catch great Alaskan fish. They were great professional guides with great stories to tell as you floated down the river. The guide running our raft was the manager of the outfit. After we were done for the day he invited me back to their camp to see if he could work something into their schedule for me. I decided "what did I have to loose?" They had a nice camp set up just outside of Copper Center and not too far from the Wilderness Princess Lodge in Copper Center. Here he invited me to use their professional grade fish processing equipment, vacuum pack bags and all, and to stay the night with them so that I could go on the employee only Tonsina whitewater trip in pursuit of the famed Alaskan King Salmon. I couldn't believe it, but he invited me into their awesome summer community home and welcomed me on their personal trip. The next day we were up early as we made the ride to the river where we fished all day. Several Kings were caught and a good time was had by all. Afterwards they helped me pack up and drive home after an amazing weekend. Truly, these are a great group of people that truly want people to have the best possible experience. I simply can't say enough good things about this group. If you are looking for a great time fishing in the Copper Center area than I am telling you that you simply won't regret booking with River Wrangellers!

We just spent two days on the Klutina river with Alaska River Wrangellers! CASEY JOHNSON was our guide and we couldn't have asked for any better. Safety comes first on this river and his experience and knowledge of the river were a real comfort.Casey's fishing expertise ensured we caught all the fish we could handle. Only being allowed one king salmon a year we caught our limit early in the day and spent the rest of the day enjoying the sights of the river and catch and release of nine additional king salmon. We also took a scenic rafting tour down the Copper river with Erin from River Wrangellers. This was another fun great day on the river.Having spent three days touring with RIver Wrangellers we had the chance to meet many team member of River Wrangeller's. They treat each other like family and your experience with the team is priceless. It was truly a once in a lifetime experience.
