OMG I'm in love with the Cranberry Spruce...I thought nothing would take me away from Raspberry Wheat, but then I found Cranberry Spruce.... Cannot wait for this to be bottled!!! I love stopping by to have a sample or two after work or during the afternoon...Excellent, friendly service with VERY knowledgeable staff!

I love beer and always enjoy sampling the local, craft / boutique brews of an area when visiting new places. The Alaskan Brewing Company produces such flavourful and enjoyable brews you won't be able to stop at one. Hey, there are so many different varieties, you're guaranteed to find something just right for your palate. And that won't take long! I was able to catch a shuttle bus from the downtown Alaskan Brewing giftshop (where you can stock up big on beer merchandise) for a small fee - this gets you to and from the Brewery - about 10 minutes out of the downtown area. This place is a must see! I just wish I could find the beer down here in Australia.

I am a beer drinker and so is my husband. We love going to breweries everywhere. This place was awesome. For $15.00 round trip a direct shuttle from the downtown Alaskan Brewing Depot to the Alaskan Brewery and Tasting Room! Which was great because then there is no risk of DUI. When there we went into the tasting room. While tasting beer they gave us the history of brewery and allowed us to ask questions. We were able to try many of there different beers and even bought souvenirs in their shop. The told us that any employee is allowed to work with a brew master and make their own beer, which I thought was pretty cool. It was a great way to spend the afternoon...sampling beer.

You don't see any advertisement for this brewery, so I didn't even know it existed. We happened to go into the Alaskan Brewing Co. gift shop downtown, and the nice lady told us about it. I don't know her name, but she was Asian, and very helpful. It was about a 10 minute drive from downtown Juneau, and as far as I could tell, you can't actually go into the brewery, just look through some windows. Having been to some of the larger breweries and distilleries, I was disappointed...UNTIL, I started sampling beer. Each visitor gets 6 samples, and on this particular day we were the only people there, so we were helped by the very friendly staff, and had some Smoked Porter and Amber. We can't get Alaskan beer down in Indiana, so I was glad to sample it.

We like to check out different breweries when we travel. Alaskan Brewery did not disappoint. Our guide was well-informed about the beer and the brewery. We enjoyed learning the history of the brewery and the way that new beers are chosen and introduced. There is a small selection of merchandise at the brewery and there is a much larger store in downtown Juneau (but they don't have a tasting room downtown). And did I mention that there was an excellent selection of beers to sample? My favorite was the pumpkin porter. Stop by and visit the brewery if you're in Juneau.

We had a wonderful time at the Alaskan Brewery and had a great tour and tasting of their wonderful beers. Our guide was very knowledgeable an entertaining. It was very interesting learning the history of the brewery and about the different beers. The tasting room was a fun time and you get to try about 6 different brews.

The only way you can get this tour through our cruise line was if you bike to it and we didn't want to chance the weather or exert the effort! Our group of four strolled downtown from the cruise terminal in Juneau and about midway through town on the right hand side is the Alaskan Brewing Co. store. It has really nice quality merchandise. Go upstairs and sign up for the tour. $15 a piece. They bring a van to take you to the brewery located in a warehouse area. The tour guide also gave us a nice tour of the town on the way. The brewery tour consists of going to a tap room and being totally entertained. History of town, brewery & Alaska. Great beer information. 4 generous servings each and then more servings afterwards in the gift area. WOW. So worth $15. Favorites....ipa & oatmeal stout. Enjoy!

We loved this brewing company. The tour was informative and the free samples at the end were all delicious. Out of all the ones I tasted I liked Alaskan Amber the most.

I am guessing that the people who gave the Alaskan Brewing Company tour a 1 or 2 star rating are either writing their reviews during their AA meetings, or are the same people who stand outside of a bar at closing time to yell at patrons. Not sure how you can go wrong with a free tour that is provided by friendly staff, which includes 6 (yes, count 'em, 6) free samples (that generously add up to a solid pint, if not more) of many of their best beers. Even beers that are not in season elsewhere, or were specialty beers you can't get anywhere else (e.g., we had the Survival brew that was made by the Brew Dogs TV show)!Note: It is less of a tour (you only walk about 10 meters from the gift shop), and more of a tasting/information tour. Also, remember that they don't open until 11am, so if you're like my family, you sat outside a brewery for 20 minutes itching for them to open like desperate drunkards.

We drove here while in Juneau (although for cruise shippers, there is a shuttle from the ABC depot downtown). Samples are free so that you can find the beer you like. You can then buy beer or merchandise. Good beer - the Amber is a good historic recipe.

First on getting here. Shuttle was 15 dollars round trip. Cab from the city est 18 on way. More than three = cab it. Otherwise it's a 15 dollar beer tasting as the tasting is free. As others note, There isn't a tour rather you are in a room where they tell you the story with windows into the brewer. The tale is very interesting and our guide did a pretty good job with it. Only complaint is that she didn't keep the beer glasses full while she talked. Everyone was dry long before offering the next tAste. Timing could use some work. Four beers in the room. Then you move out to the shop area where there are 8 on tap and you are supposed to only be able to try 6 (4 from before + 2 in this area). Didn't see any enforcement of this of you are worried. The double ipa is excellent (hopolicious) and the smoked porter is pretty special. They have a couple that you can only taste in the brewery or in Alaska so if you are into beer, this is a good stop.

Took the shuttle from downtown, interesting drive and entertaining driver. Informative employee oversaw a tasting session of 6 beers. Delivered back to town in a little under 2 hours. Highly recommended.

We took the shuttle from the downtown Alaskan Brewery store out to the brewery which is about 4-5 miles away. It costs only 15 bucks and once you get there the beer samples are all free! You get to try the beers while they give a talk about the brewery and how they created the beers. The smoked porter is AMAZING. Still craving it! The shuttle ride over to the brewery is also interesting and the driver talks about the history of the town etc. Highly recommend if you like beer!

My family enjoyed this trip from our Norwegian cruse line stop in Juneau, Alaska. We had a great time and very much enjoyed the excursion. We highly recommend the trip.
