I was able to sneak a day away from the office and tour around Juneau. Even though it was March and the weather didn't cooperate, I had a grand time at the glacier. I could stay and look for hours. Definitely walk the trails. You will regret not doing so. The area labelled "photo shoot" wasn't close to the photo ops available! Take the nugget falls trail and take it all in. Gorgeous!

I recommend a trip out the glacier. It's something you won't forget. The staff were friendly and we felt safe the entire trip. The views coming onto the glacier are great. It was definitely cold so make sure you bring more clothes than you think you'll need!

The walk to Mendenhall Glacier was a comfortable and enjoyable walk. Standing at the glacier, in its spray, you really felt like you were in the path of nature's power. It was a very nice outing. Took about an hour.

The key is a clear blue backdrop in the sky, and that's what I experienced on March 2nd!Parking can be a challenge on a holiday or weekend, but well worth the drive when in Juneau. The viewing areas are many and the walking trails are excellent. This sure is a Must Visit location!

We took a short bike tour to the glacier visitor center and got to see this magnificent glacier and falls. We had almost perfect weather to see the sights. Highly recommend.

I booked a helicopter tour and glacier trek through my cruise line. I can't remember the name of the company providing the tour, but it was booked through Princess. It was the most expensive excursion that I have ever done, but it was also the most memorable. The flight to the glacier was absolutely stunning! They dropped us off, and we were fit with crampons and an ice pick, given a quick demonstration, then guided through the glacier landscape. They brought us to various points of interest, including an ice tunnel, ice cave, crevasse, and an ice waterfall. We were able to stop and fill our water bottles with ice cold glacier water also. The photos and memories that I brought back from this excursion are amazing! You don't have to be in great physical shape to do this, but you need to be able to walk and climb through hilly terrain. I'm not in the best shape myself, and there were many older couples who were able to keep up. It was still adventurous enough for the very fit folks like my brother though!

The walk to the falls - a two mile round trip - is well worth it! Rangers were super nice and friendly. The bear warning is ALWAYS up, I was told, so don't worry.

As a local, it's wonderful having this natural wonder in my backyard! Watching the changes over time is fascinating
