The lady working here was very knowledgeable about all things Petersburg, and the surrounding islands. She told us stories about the stuffed fish on the walls, the photographs, the history of the place and stuff to do around the island. Cute building and convenient to the Scandia hotel, and the "main street"

Standard fair for a visitor center. It did have maps and recipes for local fish that one can catch. Very nice lady with some local insider information though.

The information centre staff were very keen to find out our interests and went to some lengths to ensure we had all the information we needed. Maps and brochures were plentiful and extra advice given on the range of good eating places in town.

They are so helpful and have so many pamphlets and books -- some free, some for sale. The 2014 visitors' guide is a wealth of information.

We stopped by for some information on the community. Most of our trip was focused in the Petersburg area with 3 days spent in Juneau. Lots of things to do while there and never a dull moment. Wonderful community!

You have to stop by here just to talk to some of the friendliest people on the planet. This place makes you feel welcome. You betcha...

Many Visitor's Centers are just brochure pushers. The Visitor's Center in Petersburg is much more and we got a lot of good info and maps from the Information Lady behind the desk. Highly recommended.

Marilyn gave us lots of good ideas for hikes to the lakes and other activities after our Tongass Kayak trip was cancelled at the last minute. She was generous with her time and information. She was also kind enough to give us some posters of Alaska to share with our fellow educators back in Montana.

The folks in the Petersburg Visitor Center can answer any of your questions about local facilities (and people, too). There are lots of informative handouts, too.

We stopped in here for information during our visit to town for Mayfest. The folks here are super helpful in helping you decide what to do and see in Petersburg. The only problem is they are open rather short hours. Definitely stop in and chat a bit at the start of your visit. It'll make your time in Petersburg much more interesting.

I've lived in Petersburg and also visited as a tourist and it is one of Alaska'a best towns for fishing, nature walks, and community living. Lots of local events in the summer & very tourist friendly without being touristy. Even if you are just tagging along with a fisherman, if you enjoy nature & friendly locals, there is lots to see & enjoy. Can't wait to head back (again) this summer!

These people know the area, the history and want to help you make the most of your time in Petersburg and surrounding areas. Don't miss a stop or call to these very friendly folks.
