On the way to Eureka Springs came across the Saunders Collection in Berryville. One mans' passion gifted to the local community,900 guns, the majority American of course, mainly handguns spanning flintlock to early breech loaders so 18th/19th century on the whole. An extensive and comprehensive collection with just about every variation imaginable. One or two 'hero guns' belonging to famous outlaws lawmen and bandits. There are also other exhibits of personal family possesions the Saunders wished to share, an eclectic mix of European and Eastern furniture, porcelain objet d'art gathered on their travels. Philanthropy at its best. If you're passing and have time to stop off give them your support. Entry fee is very reasonable, staff very friendly and polite. If you're a student of this particular field then a special trip should be on you 'to do' list. Recommended.

Just happened to pass by not knowing what the Saunders Museum was. Stopped at another attraction and they had fliers about the collection of antique firearms at the museum. We returned and were delighted to find this extensive collection. If you are interested in firearms and history this is a great place to visit. Also a nice collection of furniture and other items.

Very unusual collection of guns and interesting history. The displays and signage could be improved. Low admission fee, only takes about an hour to tour.
