Great fishing and camping. Restrooms clean. It was not very busy when we visited so that may be why it was quiet. Staff at visitor center were very friendly and gave us lists of things we should check out, see, or go do.

Our Barkhimer reunion is held at the pavilion, at White Oak Lake State Park. The caretakers keep this park, especially, clean. From the pavilion, itself, to the public bathrooms and the surrounding grounds. Several families bring their RVs, because it is such a peaceful setting and so, well, maintained. We started having reunions, there, in the 70s. We have tried other places, over the years, but, they can't hold a candle to White Oak Lake State Park. If you've never camped there, take my advise, you will enjoy your stay! The only thing they don't have are cabins, and nearby stores, so stock up, and don't forget to take all your supplies!

We visited this state park to get our Civil War 150th passports stamped. We spent 30 minutes exploring the park. We saw the lake and the campgrounds, both looked nice. I am sure this would be a wonderful place to visit and spend time.

Under normal conditions White Oak Lake would probably be a lovely place, however there was been a drastic drawdown of the water which had let weeds grow up from the bottom of the lake. There isn't enough water for the paddle boats to run. There are other things to do such as trails and fishing, but I don't know how well the fish are taking the low water. There are camping areas with picnic tables and restrooms available for a small fee. There is a visitors center where you can buy souvenirs or fishing supplies. While there go down the road to Poison Springs battlefield. It is a nice little park and full of history of a rare Arkansas Confederate victory.

We spent the weekend at White Oak Lake State Park in December. Since, it was winter and cold and we camped, we didnt enjoy sleeping out in the cold.The facilities were good, there was a picnic table next to the campsite along with water. We had gone for the "Type D" campsite which offered just the basics.The trails were ok. We tried out the longest trail. Although, there werent enough markers and for a moment we got lost and luckily got back on the trail.The store out there is really good and you get a lot of supplies (including firewood, charcoal and propane fuel) there as opposed to the Petit Jean State Park. All in all it was a pretty decent state park. Its worth at least one visit
