long pool recreation area

Long Pool campgrounds is a pretty area in a National Forest that gives a feeling of being out in the woods which, I like. The Big Piney River is also a very scenic river that I also like. I have camped at other National Forest campgrounds in Arkansas and they were all very nice. This campground was full of poison Ivy. Poison Ivy everywhere, ev-ery-where! I did however, managed to escape catching it except for just a little bit between my fingers, (probably off of my boot laces) My biggest complaint by far was the conditions of bathrooms, more specifically the showers. Shower walls and floors had moldy, slimmy, I don't-know-what. You were afraid to touch anything in there. Park Host blamed a rowdy weekend crowd for the condition. This condition does not happen over a few days, it takes months of NO CLEANING. I called the National Forest Office who said they would deliver the message. They did nothing. The lack of response from the National Forest Personnel was very disappointing to see. (luxury tent camped here with my wife)
