We stopped here with another couple after reading the great reviews on trip advisor. It was amazing!! You can do a self guided tour so you can take as long as you like and you aren't in a big group. Also the cave has adorable tiny furry bats living there!! They don't move and it's just one every now and then, but they are awesome! We had so much fun and we can't wait to come back and try one of their wild cave tours.

My family was driving through and I had a brochure for here they offer an extreme cave tour. We arrived and only an older guy was there he said the tour guide was of for his birthday, however he called him and the tour guide came in to give us an extreme tour. We didn't know what to expect really but started off very peaceful had picnic on the benches by the waterfall and kids caught some crayfish in the pond under the waterfall. Then the tour guide showed up and he was great helping keep the kids calm and focused. My 6yr and 8yr old boys were probably the youngest to do this tour but I coaxed them into being adventurous and doing it we had a great time and the kids had fun until we got to the wet mud it was cold and that's when the kids didn't want to do it anymore but at that point we had no choice but to keep going. Then we got to the underground river part very cold trekked through that for awhile then finished. Would I do it again? Probably, would I recommend it, if your adventurous and not a crybaby or quitter.... hell yea. ..We will never forget this tour it was amazing, ty so much to the tour guide that came in on his bday to share this experience with us.

My wife and i love the outdoors. We wanted a good caving experience and this was it. Roby the owner was vry friendly. Dustin our tour guide let us explore more than most places would. We were with another couple which made it a ton of fun. I dont think ive ever been that muddy. Great experience and challenges you wont get with these caves that have way too many visitors. As far as the repairs go... its dripping from the spring inside. Plus it's a cave! It's not gonna have perfect walkways. I highly recommend checking it out! If you have some adventure do the extreme tour! We loved it!!!

My husband and I have visited many caves, but have never done an "adventure" tour or "wild" tour until Hurricane River. We read several reviews online and it completely lived up to and exceeded our expectations. We did as advised and started on the Far North portion because it's a little less extreme than the Far East. I thought I was claustrophobic, but the "Cave Doctor" cured me. We got an INSANE workout, left proud with our bumps and bruises, and had the best GoPro video to watch when we got home. I have never been so tested mentally - crawling through tiny tunnels, jumping into shoulder high, freezing cold water, and learning how to chimney across steep drops. We had the time of our lives and cannot wait to come back for the Far East. I may also mention that Roby is a wonderful host - he'll impress your with his magic tricks while you wait. Great place and great people!Tips - bring cash if you'd like to buy the video. Dustin can put it on a flash drive for you, but you could also bring your own.

This cave was so cool! The owner was really nice. He gave us a brief history behind it and it was really neat. The grounds were well kept and his dogs were very friendly- they even go with tours sometimes. The tour was self guided and really awesome. The paths were well lit and easily accessible.

My fiance and did the adventure tour and let me tell you, it was well worth the money. This was a guided and filmed tour... they provided knee pads and helmets, as well as a suitable place to shower and change afterwards. I could not believe how intense and awesome this tour was. Our guide was great, and even when the cool temp of the water got to me, he hustled me out and into the warmth at the end of the tour! The owner of the joint is the nicest guy, Roby. Not only was he adept at magic tricks, but he was also knowledgable and friendly! When we first pulled into the parking lot, I was wondering what we had gotten ourselves into. Once you approach the back of the establishment, you find yourself in this wonderful oasis with the mouth of the cave and a waterfall. The adventure tour will test your strength and challenge you. You WILL get dirty and wet, this makes it all the more fun. I am so glad we did this and that we bought the video! There is an alternate tour and hopefully we make it back to experience it as well. Thank you so much Justin (or was it Dustin?) and Roby. An experience not soon forgotten!

I'll stay by saying this is not a good stop if you have never been to a cave. You will not get the history lesson a good guide will give you and that takes away from the experience. This is as privately owned no frills cave. However if you'd have been to caves prior this is s must stop because you have the run of the cave and there are no rules to hold you back. It is as totally different experience to walk through on your own and look around at your own pace.a new experience for us but I would not recommend if you want as formal guide tour. .. check out the government controlled Blanchard springs caverns for that

This was a wonderful cave...lots of fun. Very adventurous. Tours are self-guided, which was a new experience but turned out to be great. Definitely will visit again!!!

A lot of reviewers complain about the cave office grounds & the tour guide & cleanliness. Truth, it is a bit unkept but this is what you get w/ no government control, no government STERILITY. This was a very informal & relaxed atmosphere. We DEFINITELY recommend this cave tour. The guide will let you self-tour, give you a guided tour, make reservations for an extreme wild, no lights tour, dig for fossils & keep what you find. *****After the tour he said we could look around & explore as long as we wanted. MAKE SURE HE KNOWS YOU ARE STAYING BEHIND! We went up into the Outlaw room for time exposure pictures and after 10 minutes or so the lights went out. IT WAS TOTALLY OUR FAULT!!! But for us it was the funnest part of the trip! We had our own flashlights, which he recommends you take, and we found our own way out, just as he noticed our truck still there & went back to get us. Then we stuck around & took self portraits by the waterfall. They also have a wash up room incase you get a bit dirty. This cave was GREAT!!!!!!!

Myself and a group of five (the Subterranean Six) did the deep north extreme tour Sunday, July 20th and were blown away. An absolute jewel of an experience! As each phase progressed it became more mind blowing and challenging. Every bit of it effort was worth it. Our extreme tour guide Dustin did an amazing job and our host Roby was great. Everyone in the Subterranean Six are planning for our next trip to tackle the Deep East Extreme Tour. Don't miss out!

This place is unmanaged at best. The guided tours are self guided. They take your money and hand you a single flashlight that may our may not work. If you get past the open piles of trash. The old used toilet thrown in the yard is a real classy look. In the cave... The entire walk way is completely in disrepair. Old used lumber it's thrown on top of the already failed wooden pathway that is supposed to prevent you from falling into the water that runs throughout the cave floor. Poor lighting and an overall appearance of the constant removal of stalactites and cave features confirms the lack of supervision and poor condition of this cave.
