We wanted to stop for a picnic lunch and stretch our legs a bit, and this fit the bill. We drove to the picnic area and found that most all the tables had a view of the Buffalo River and towering bluffs. A few canoes zipped by to add to the interest. Being late in the season the restrooms were closed, so we went to the visitor's center. Take time to look at the exhibits there, and talk to the rangers. We wished that we'd had more time to spend there. Definitely planning to return!

If you have kids traveling with you, this is a nice free place to stop for a short time to see their exhibits which are quite nicely presented and interesting. I will stop again in my travels to see the exhibits again. The rest of the area is normally kept neat and clean, including the rest rooms.

We went to hike and took the 1 mile hike to the look out, a bit buggy and the peak of the ravine was SCARY for a mom since it had no rail to keep children back...the trail was narrow with a steep ravine, but we still enjoyed it, THEN we found the homestead and at the end of this trail was the same ravine BUT it did have a look out deck that was much safer for families with children.Loved the scenery, the homestead was fun,and loved the look out deck over the ravine, chatted with a ranger in the conservation dept. We did see some deer.We also went on a float trip for two miles starting at Tyler Bend and ended at Grinder's Ferry It was fun sadly the water lever was down a few feet, but we still had a great time...

Easy location to find. A little confusing on camping availability...There is walk-in, regular hookups and then group camping. Campsites were very, very nice and well maintained. Loved the bathhouse being available. Was a little frustrated that you couldn't just walk through the woods easily down to the river and had to go over to another area to access it. But over all it was very good.

Stop by the visitor center to speak with the park rangers. Watch the movie. Get a junior ranger booklet (free) for the kids. Learn the history of the park.Camping in Tyler Bend Campground is $16/night for a tent site. There are flush toilets and hot showers (hence the higher fees). Nice spots (not a lot of privacy) but nice sites. Was quiet in late March but pleasant weather. We enjoyed our time here.

The campground itself is nice enough and if you are going with a family or Boy Scouts it will be okay. I went with a group of friends and at about 11(wich granted is after quiet hours) three park rangers came up with flashlights shining in our eyes, accused us of having Drugs then threatened to arrest us for public intoxication for having a few drinks at our campsite and told us we had to go to sleep. EXTREMELY RUDE!!!

Stop by the visitor center to learn more about the Buffalo River. Campground is nice but would be better with electrical sites.

Classic place for families and schools to get in or out of the River, good camp sites, usually family or scout troop in the camp sites, Police do check for DUI

Good campgrounds - great group camp areas. Quick and conventient access. Campgrounds have no electricity; and many camp sites have no shade. Would definitely return.

Daughter and teenage grandson from Utah, rented canoe and kayak on the river. Everybody we met was sociable and helpful, 5 hours of great fun and would recommend it to anyone with "get up and go do it"- And we did not suffer any harassment!

DO NOT GO TO TYLER BEND....the rangers stake out the road into the campgrounds from those returning from the canoe rentals. they stop you when you get into the park from canoeing to search your car. it happened to many of us in the campgrounds and they are in the process of filing formal complaints!
