This paved walkway is part of a 17-mile stretch along the Arkansas River in Little Rock and North Little Rock that accommodates walkers, bicyclists, and dog walkers and leads to the Big Dam Bridge across the river, the longest bridge built just for this purpose in the U.S. There's a bicycle rental and a cafe near the eastern end, and exercise stations along the route. Five pedestrian bridges span the river in the city, and you can hike as far as Pinnacle Mountain State Park to the west.

In the event you are in this area, this is good place to bring both family, friends, and your children. There's a little for everyone in the vicinity. there's often events which bring on a great crowd, while at other times, you can simply relax and enjoy the kids playing, the boats trolling or simply have a seat at a watering hole. Any of these is an chance to simple take in and enjoy.

This is a fantastic 17 mile loop, mainly on restricted trails (a short distance is on the streets.). Largely it follows the river, and you'll find yourself stopping to watch the sunning turtle dive back into the river or watch the mother duck lead her brood along the path. Take your camera along! Its a great place to work out or simply enjoy a leasurly stroll.

On nice days we love to ride our bikes on this trail. We have never had any problems and the ride is smooth and not overly strenous. It's fairly flat and has senic views.

The River Trail is one of the best ways I've ever had my tax dollars spent! It is a paved trail about 8 feet wide that runs beside the Arkansas River, and then over the "Big Dam Bridge " to Little Rock. It is great for walking, running and cycling. Very scenic way to get exercise. It is about 8 miles in length with several places to park - downtown North Little Rock, in Burns Park or at Cooks Landing. You must decide how far you want to go, then turn around and go back to your car, unless you make a big loop (20-something miles) through downtown Little Rock over 2 bridges. Fairly flat.

This is a nice area to walk. The museum, riverboat bar and pedestrian bridge is worth the visit. The area is nice and clean with a great sunset. Great picture opportunity. Easy to get to downtown River Market District from here.

The old railroad bridges in north little rock have been turned into walk bridges. Very nice and fun. There is one by the Clinton Museum and one by the river market area. At the base of the river market one there is a park which is a little different, but TONS of fun. A long slide, and several tunnels made out of rock that the kids climb thru and up and over. It is really something cool since Arkansas is the natural state. Then when they are done there is water attraction right next to go run and play in the water fall and fountains. It was one of the highlights of our stay in little rock.

The views are amazing and the walk is well laid out and easily accessible. Many people were taking advantage of this pleasant and scenic setting on our recent visit to Little Rock.

Wide paved paths, good signage. Had a bicycle repair station to fix your bike or pump tires. First I had ever seen. Have several pedestrian/cyclist bridges. No cars to contend with.

We are so lucky to have the Rivertrail in the lr/nlr area. This is park of the trail and is great for biking or crossing bridge to get to activities on each side of the river.

This was really beautiful to walk along and to watch the other walkers and cyclist. We went to the Big Dam Bridge and walked the entire thing and then waiting until dark to see the bridge all lit up. Amazing!!

Bikes do seem to take precedence, but we saw kids, joggers, families, and hardcore bike enthusiasts. Lots of equipment for exercise and play along the stretch we were on. Beautiful old cottonwoods all along the path.

I have not walked this, but drive by it often. If you like muddy rivers, you will love this. There are dams, if you have a boat you can go through them. We did that once a long time ago. I do not like rivers with fast currents.
