We went to Stuttgart to check out Macks Prairie wings. While there one of the salesmen suggested we stop at the museum of the arkansas grand prairie. I'm glad he did. A great museum, very informative, but nice a casual, with a very helpful and nice staff. Do NOT miss the ladies's coat made from mallard drake feathers!

Don't miss this look back into days gone by on the Grand Prairie. A must see! Visit a one-room school house, go on a duck hunt, tour the museum complete with agri equipment, see a prairie house, and a replica of Stuttgart's first Lutheran Church.

Being from Stuttgart in Germany it was mandatory to go and visit Stuttgart, Arkansas. As a small city with nothing much to do we decided to go to the museum and we werent disappointed at all! Superfriendly staff and the museum was interesting and there was a lot to see and learn! If you are close to Stuttgart, Arkansas I recommend giving this museum a try, you wont regret it!

We learned so many new things here---even as lifelong residents of neighboring county, absolutely one of the best museums we have ever visited. The displays are well rounded pictures of life in days gone by, the farm equipment was awesome, first class in every way. A must see for any history buff. So glad we made the trip.

We came to town for a family reunion and decided to see what a attractions were in the area on tripadvisor. We were pleasantly surprised to find this amazing interactive museum. We loved looking at all the historic items and they did a great job at putting notes about the story behind the items. We did not have a ton of time so we only spent about an hour but could have easily spent a few more hours. Definitely enjoyed it.

This museum is not to be missed. Discover life on the prairie in the early farming years. There is a prairie house, church, school house, fire house and lots and lots of antique farm equipment and duck hunting memorabilia. The staff is welcoming and knowledgeable. Gift shop has many lovely things. FREE admission, but they gratefully accept donations. Don't miss it! Also, there is a beautiful city park across the street.

Wonderful, friendly, knowledgeable staff await at this FREE museum (donations accepted, of course). Our entire group of 10, young and old were completely enthralled with this experience! We were expecting a boring walk-through of information regarding Arkansas agriculture; instead, we found life-size replicas of a school house, farm house, church, fire station, and newspaper office with original pieces that you can even touch! We were given lots of interesting information and allowed to move at our own pace. Antique tractors and cars, covered wagons, steam engines and LOTS of other surprises are tucked away in this unexpected gold mine. We were all pleasantly surprised and completely surprised to find so many interesting pieces in one place. I would recommend this museum for anyone passing through or visiting Stuttgart, Arkansas.

Loved this tour and all the activities. I was amazed at the amount of history that was on display. It was great - plus right across from a park for the kids!

....so I was curious to find out more about this place and its history, mainly about farming and duck shooting. While unfortunately most old buildings in town are gone, I could not believe what a great place this museum is, with lots of exhibits from the Past and today. The old original school house, church and some other buildings are now on this site. Every visitor is warmly welcomed by very enthusiastic staff. Entry is free.

I had never been to Stuttgart, lived in Arkansas most of my life. I loved everything they had in the museum. I saw things my Grandmother's had and my Grandpa used. Even saw a doll like the one my Grandmother gave me when I was a little girl...she said it was my Mother's but not to tell her twin sister. Well Grandma I kept your secret...everyone is gone ...and I kept my word til now..Brings back wonderful memories!!!! Thank you for sharing this with me and so many others.

I remember going to visit the Museum on school trips, then taking my kids to see it now. They loved it just as much as I did. Gotta love the waterfowl room, its always fun for the kids!

What impressed me the most was the size of their collection. I'm giving a score of 4 because of that as well: they have so many objects it is difficult to walk around in some areas. From hand tools to tractors, duck hunting to pioneer wagons. Their duck call collection is impressive. Anybody going through Stuttgart, AR should make the point to stop by and spend an hour or more in this little museum: it is well worth it!

Stuttgart was founded on agriculture and the home of Riceland Rice which emcompasses the globe. The Arkansas Grand Prairie Museum was founded to celebrate the place agriculture has played in this part of Arkansas. There are tools and tractors of all descriptions not to mention things used in home life at the turn of the last century. Everything from wagons and carriages, to cars, kitchen wares and toys which always brings about the reaction of "I remember those." On the grounds are buildings from the late 1800's and early 1900's such as a church and a school which are unique and slowly disappearing from the landscape and should be preserved. The attendants are very helpful. This is a very unsuspected surprise and well worth seeing. There is no fee for the museum, but contributions are welcome.
