I LOVE THIS PLACE! I love it for the artwork, for its location and its transquility. When I need a place to go that is quite, have beautiful things and a pretty outside environment, I go to the Arts Center. You don't have to be into art to go their. You will find something to enjoy whether its the art work, the gift shop or the dining room.

This was my second time to visit and again I was impressed. Nice art, pleasant experience, wonderful exhibits . They do not charge admission but request donations and I don't mind donating. I have not ate at the restaurant. But really a gem in Little Rock. Would not mind going back as special exhibits change.

It was a nice stop after visiting the Mount Holly Cemetery.Lots of parking, not crowded, nice art work, cool gift shop and it was FREE. A good way to spend an hour or two (depending on how deeply you contemplate art).

Visited during December and has the thrill of seeing the annual collectors sale plus a beautiful wood sculpture exhibition. The museum is free. The museum store is one of the best....offering a myriad of local artists work. We'll worth the visit.

The Arkansas Art Center is an often forgotten about gem that the people of central Arkansas needs to do a better job of promoting. The artwork is diverse enough to satisfy any art enthusiast. They offer many workshops for those who want to pursue different forms of art medium. Finally they have a great restaurant and gift shop which showcases many local artists. If you are in the Little Rock area and enjoy art you must check out the Art Center!

We LOVE this great museum. When we moved to Arkansas (having lived in two major metro areas before) we were amazed at the caliber of the collections and presentation of this art center. The permanent collection is something we never grow weary of and the exhibits are always stellar. The gift shop is stocked with fairly priced and creative items and the lunch room is top notch. My only regret is that we live an hour's drive away; other wise I would be there much more often and take advantage of the wonderful classes offered.

The Arkansas Arts Center is a neat place. When we were there, most of the space was dedicated to a local elementary and high school art contest from across the state. We saw some neat pieces, but it was just ok. They did have some interesting things in their permanent collections that are worth going back to see. Next time, we'll plan around the special exhibits so we can see something we're more interested in.

My wife used to spend her Saturday mornings here when she was a teenager taking art classes.Worthwhile even for the casual visitor.

I went to see "The Boy Who Cried Wolf" on March, 21. The play was designed to have the kids interact with the actors throughout the show.I went at a time when there was a lot of schools there on field trips. I would say that the majority of the audience was between the ages of 6 and 8. The actors, while in character, would ask the audience to pretend to be sheep, and would ask them questions about the show (which way did he go, ect.). Well, apparently, when you ask young children to participate at certain times, they think they should participate at ALL times. That completely infuriated one of the actors! I never thought that anyone in the audience was ever too disruptive, and I also thought the teachers did a great job at reigning everyone in, and calming everyone down. The one angry actor, however, did not agree! When the show was over, the actor came back on stage to see if anyone in the audience had a question. He was very rude to every kid that asked a question, and eventually stopped the questioning because he didn't think anyone could ask a "propper question." He then goes on to lecture the teachers, and tells them when they get back to school, they need to have a long talk with their students about how to behave at a theater. After he gets done lecturing us all on how we a horrible theater goers, he then points at some kid and yells, "I will talk to you later! Do you hear me?" Then he goes into the audience to yell at that kid some more. I thought the whole experience was completely awkward and uncalled for! As I stated before, I never thought the audience was ever being too disruptive or loud. They were just young kids that would get caught up in the show and thought it was ok to interact with the show. I think the actor should definitely stop performing for young children. And if he does continue, maybe he should pick a play that doesn't have the audience interact with the actors, or doesn't have the actors getting the audience excited, and worked up, by running around the theater, and even actually running into the audience, at times. I will never go back to this theater! This actor completely crossed the line when he started yelling at these young kids. He is just lucky that he didn't start yelling at my child! He is NOT an authority figure to any of those children, and he had no right to discipline any child!!

The Arkansas Arts Center has grown remarkably over the past 30+ years. Very generous donors/patrons have contributed to several beautiful expansions of the Center. The Center contains a world-class collection of works on paper--drawings, prints, watercolors, etc. One of the world's largest collections of Signac's work is there. The permanent collection changes periodically and there are also temporary exhibits. There is a fine museum restaurant and gift shop (with far above average merchandise.) Located on the east side of Little Rock in MacArthur Park.

Have been going to AR Children's Theater for years!! I went as a young lady and now take my children. Performers are great quality and you always leave feeling like you've seen a great show!

This was our first trip to the Arkansas Arts Center. We were impressed. We especially liked the self portrait exhibit.

The permanent collection of this museum will surprise you - they don't have a ton of paintings, but they have been carefully curated and tell a coherent story of the evolution of artistic genres in the West. These parts of the museum are free - can't get any better. The temporary exhibits are the ones one needs a ticket for, but they are totally worth it!

Whether visiting the special exhibits or permanent collection the Arts Center is a must see. Docent tours always add to the experience, enjoy the restaurant and the Gift Shop always has some unique gift ideas.

The building is wonderful -- includes theater, school, etc. -- and very modern and inviting. Saw seasonal exhibit of Mark Rothko which was quite complete. Loved exhibit of "Interwoven".Good value. Well worth visiting!
