What a great experience! First, there is a center across the street from the school, with so many displays and details of the 1957 desegregation and the Little Rock 9. All free. There also was a guided tour inside the school, which basically went over more of the details, answered any questions anyone had, and gave a little visit to the auditorium.

The National Park Service does a fine job of interpreting the place and events of the 1950s in Little Rock. Excellent staff, videos and exhibits. You are standing where history happened.

Don't miss a stop to the Visitors Center for a very powerful exhibit. You can then take a stroll down the street to the High School. If you want a tour inside the school you have to call in advance and have it set up.This is a must...stop!

The visitor center provides a very good history of the events that occurred at the school at that time. The visitor center is located across the street from the school and you can get close enough to get a good look. Glad we stopped.

There is no parking around the school at least during the school season. all the street spots are taken. Also the neighborhood...... well let's say I would not walk around there. so if you want to look at the school , drive by with your windows closed and doors locked.

A piece of history that is worth going to see. It's a very beautiful school. There is an information building that was not open when we went, however I would go back to listen to whatever information is provided.

It is a school steeped in the last century's history. There is a nice visitors center and one can walk around the impressive building and see where it all happened in 1957. Moreover, it is still an excellent school with, among other things, the highest college acceptance rate in Arkansas at Ivy league schools. It is located fairly close to the Governor's Mansion and the Victorian homes in the Quapah Quarter so easy to take in on a tour to that part of Little Rock.

Make sure that you plan this into your visit. The school is massive and you have the ability to walk around and read about what happened. Make sure that you have on comfortable shoes.

We had our family reunion in Little Rock & our family make sure that we saw the historical sites in Little Rock & Central High School was on the top of the list. This was just an amazing place to stand in front to see where history took place. I stood there with 4 of our generations & I could feel some of the struggles that those 9 kids must have gone through & I salute them for being strong & taking on such a dangerous endeavor to make our lives & education better today - very touching.....

This was my first trip to Little Rock but where my Husband spent his formative years. He used to live near the high school in the 60's. He still remembers bombings happening. I grew up in rural Northern Wisconsin and had little exposure to integration issues. Visiting the high school and the museum made it so much more real to me.Really a must see while in Little Rock. It is a huge, beautiful building.

This is a memorial attraction that should not be missed. The story of this national integration event is one that every American should experience. It is a small exhibit, but it presents a very moving picture of that portion of our history.

The little museum has a very nice display about the civil rights movement. My 12 year twins enjoyed the information. I'm a teacher and I bought a book to share with my students.

Central High School is a must see while visiting Little Rock! I was traveling with 7 kids ages 8 to 15. They listened to our park ranger's ( Toni Phinisey Webber) detailed description of the events leading up to the students (Little Rock 9) first day of school and how they handled the 1st year of integration. The school was not in session and we were able to walk the hallways, see the auditorium and cafeteria. Ms. Webber was very knowledgable and engaged the kids in our tour. A park ranger led tour is the best way to see the school.

It brings the whole school segregation to light. It was an excellent museum and a must see for any one traveling in Little Rock!

I recently visited the school with my family and we really enjoyed it. The grounds and the outside of the school was very nice, however It is a functioning school so you are not allowed inside the building. Be sure to visit the museum located across the street.
