Gives you some basic ideas about the history of Eureka Springs. It was more basic than what I expected but it's good for a first-time visitor. The upstairs also has an art gallery area.

We went to the Silent City cemetery tour. What a fun, wonderful and personal way to share Eureka history. It was so great. Well organized. Very informative. And very reasonably priced way to spend the evening on a fall day in Eureka. I would definitely participate in other activities they offer.

As a business owner, I finally got the time to do some research on the history of my building and I found some great info at the Eureka Historical Museum. The on site curator helped me search for historical documents and even found some pictures of my place from 1940! It's a small museum, but well worth the visit to learn more about how Eureka came about and the people that made it what it is today...your visit to Eureka will be so much more meaningful if you understand this village.

MAKE SURE YOU TAKE THE VOICES TOUR IN OCTOBER! AWESOME! We hate having to wait a year for our next trip. Look forward to next year already.

When you walk into the museum, you immediately sense the pride that the locals have in their town. A town with quite a history.I learned that 13-star flags were produced for many years after we gained our indendence. I learned that people used to buy souvenirs that were fine art made in another country...and only in the past 50 years have we bought souvenirs made in the place we were visiting.Well worth the $5.

This is a history tour of some of the famous and infamous characters that have lived in Eureka Springs who have died and are buried in the city's cemetery. Each year during the 2 weekend of October a group of people have written, produces a pageant that have actors portraying different citizens who have played a part in developing Eureka Springs colorful history. This is a performance not to be missed by locals and or visitors of this little Victorian city. This year, the characters range from Eureka's first (woman) trash collector who lived in a cave to the first woman physician in the state of Arkansas to the first woman who was appointed as Assistant to the Surgeon General of the United States. The actor(ess)s are so good they make you want to go up to them after they skit and ask if they knew about..... or if they knew where so and so lived. Wonderful performances by the cast with a great script about their role in the history of Eureka Springs, plus hot cider and home made cookies afterward. Don't miss this wonderful experience.

I had been here about 20 years ago and found it interesting with more local folk information. They still had the feather crown but didn't find the mad stone. What they have now would be more interesting for local residents that want to see pictures of early residents in school pictures. It doesn't mean much to people from out of town. Dishes are the same as you see in every hometown museum. There must be history in Eureka Springs that is more unique to the area. I love history but would never come back.

You can tell a lot of time has gone into creating the museum. There are lots of pictures and lots of information. There are some artifacts. There is an art exhibit. I think I would have enjoyed this more if I were from the area. Our teenagers did not enjoy the visit at all.

The staff is very informative and friendly. The downstairs is all about the town and its people. Very well done. The upstairs is cool too but the stairs are steep. The local artists exhibit was well done.

Small, not a lot of stuff, but has some interesting information. Good stop for the beginning of your trip. Does cost to get in, $5 per person

Worth going to, was surprised they charged, forget the amount, but wasn't much and they do have some interesting things to look at, take your time and you will see more.

This is the best place to start your visit to charming Eureka Springs. It provides historical perspective on why there are so many old hotels and beautiful Victorians here. Your tour of old town will be enriched by the information provided this neat little museum.

If the real deal of a century ago is your thing, then Eureka Springs is the place for you!! The goodies this museum has saved is astounding & mind boggling! Definitely a must see for those who either loved the good ol' days or those who wish they could experience first hand, the good ol' days!!

If you like history this is a great place. It has most of the towns history and some neat artifacts. It was in an un air conditioned building so it was very warm. If you do any of the towns tours you will hear some of the same stories but there will be some differences. We really enjoyed it.
