This is a short hike from the parking area to the base of the lowest falls. I arrived fairly early and had the entire place to myself. As the sun rose, the leaves lit up with color and the falls looked amazing. While I don't believe any of them were more than 20-30 feet high, each had it's own style and character. Worth the trip, and time. I didn't continue on to the Chapel Ledge, although wish I had now.

Even though I've lived in Western MA my whole life, I had never checked out Chapel Brook until recently. It's beautiful! There are many options for trails- you can hike to the Bullit Reservation, or to DAR, or hike up to the summit to see a beautiful view. My friend and I were able to do the hike to the summit with 5 kids under 5. The littler ones needed some help, but the 4 year old and almost 5 year old did great! The falls themselves are very pretty.

There are short hikes to open pools with large rock falls and on a hot day the area feels much cooler. The hikes across the road lead to a large rock face and if you continue to follow it around to the back there is a good view. Go in expecting a cute little spot and you will be very pleased

Chapel Brooks Falls is a beautiful set of waterfalls that cascade into pools that are deep enough to swim in! The fall before one of the pools makes a great slide to splash down into the water that is surprisingly deep enough. The water was crisp and refreshing and so clear! My only mistake was going at the end of the summer, or I'd have been planning swimming trips there instead! Some people came and went so it wasn't very private but still a lot of fun! There's a trail nearby that is very clearly marked and easy to follow that leads to a nice vista. I haven't had a chance to climb Pony Mountain, but hope to in the next week or two!

this was another site on my list of things to see and I finally got there this fall. enjoyed the falls, climbing to the top of the ledge, and walking the connectore trail to west st. on my first visit. we met two women on horses who said they had traveled from Whately on an abandoned road. Went back to explore and discovered the twin bridge trail. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Thank you Ashfield for creating these connector trails!!!!!

We hiked one of the trails at Chapel falls this week. Not sure if we took the one we planned but it was a lovely hike. We are not in great shape and we had our dog but it was doable. We hiked an hour in and back out. We had a picnic on a fallen log in a quiet fern covered area. The water falls are beautiful. The trail we did starts down hill on the falls side of the road and is marked with light blue blazes.

'Hiked' here a couple of times. Have hiked to almost every falls in a 50 mile radius and this is in my top 5. There's just something about it; peaceful, interesting play of water on rock, quiet. The only drawback is finding a time to visit when it is devoid of others.

To get our daughter into hiking, so that we could hike more, we divsed a plan to go "waterfall hunting" to entice her. It worked! And this water fall is a three-tiered beauty we can't wait to return to in warmer weather. It is not far off the road, and the hike to see the three tiers is short. Across the road is Pony Mountain, where there is a sheer wall for climbing enthusists. The trail winds around and eventually places you at the top of Pony mountain, with great views. Defintely worth seeing both sides of the road - take the time!

Picnic, swim, slide, contemplate, and don't tell a soul I told you about it.
