I have been here several times and have always had a great time. This is a small zoo, though there are plenty of animals to see, some of which you di not see in other zoos. The fee is minimal for admission and given that the $ is to support it, we are happy to pay more. There is a small water area for children to play in the hot summer as well. I would highly recommend this zoo for a half day trip with any sized family.

We went here on an unseasonably warm day in November and practically had the zoo to ourselves. The small size of the zoo was perfect for our 3 year old and she had a great day. We were able to spend as much time viewing the animals as we wanted without being in anyone's way. It was like we had the zoo to ourselves. The animals were active and the volunteers there were so friendly and knowledgeable. We also had a great time feeding the ducks (bring your quarters). We will get the family pass next year and visit more often we had a great time here. There is a playground outside the zoo that is free tot he public it is very big and always full of kids. The whole place makes for a great day.

Just big enough so the little ones don't get tired of walking. Best for the under 10 crowd. Not very expensive, clean & plenty of parking!

I live close to this zoo so I visited it often. The zoo is just big enough so the little ones don't get bored! It also has a great playground and plenty of space to have a picnic. One of our favorite times to visit was in the winter on a warmer day when we had finished sledding in the park we would walk over and go to the zoo!

This was my first visit to Capron park and I enjoyed it. This is a small zoo just great for toddlers. I was shocked at how reasonable the admission was . My husband and I took our 4 year old granddaughter . The place was immaculate the staff was friendly. The Alpacas were a big hit as were the goats she fed. The grounds were well maintained. The exhibits appeared well taken care of . The exhibits were very accessible to children . It was a hot day so they had mist fans running which was great. Bathrooms were well placed and clean and plenty of them . The water park just the right size for the 2-5 yr olds. They had a changing area right there as well as lots of shade throughout the zoo. After the zoo visit we went to the playground which was lovely . What a fabulous day we had. We will return. I highly recommend this venue

I live a few miles from this zoo and have visited many times! The zoo is small and takes about an hour to walk through. This is a perfect zoo for young children! The zoo even has a small water fountain that kids can play in!!! Admission is next to nothing (under $10). Lions, monkeys, bears, reptiles, lemurs, etc.... This zoo has a wide variety of animals, including a small petting area. (bring quarters to retrieve food). The zoo is very clean and the zookeepers/volunteers are always so helpful.

Living locally, I tend to forget what is around me, but this zoo is really enjoyable and has been around for quite some time. I remember going when I was younger and bringing my niece (who is now in her 20's). Both my boys have gone and love it! Going again this weekend as well. The birthday parties they offer are really cool too. A relative had one there and it was great! Got to see different animals up close and touch them, had time in a private party room for cake, etc. then the guest got to spend the rest of the day in the zoo and wander at their leisure. Loved it and would recommend.

Very affordable, not a huge zoo, but great for the little ones. They have area where the kids can feed goats and alpacas. They have lions, and a leopard. And of course more animals. Indoor area's. one for nocturnal amphibians and rodent type animals. They also have a little splash pad area, so bring a bathing for the kids. Friendly staff. The only issue is the gift shop is on the pricey side. I guess it's to make up for the affordable entrance fees.

While it's a very small zoo, it is clean, well maintained and situated in a beautiful, sprawling park. It was just the right size for a family with small kids (ages 5 and 2), they lasted about 3 hours. Some quick tips: dress your kids in bathing suits for the splash pad and bring towels. Bring quarters to feed the goats and cash for ice cream and concessions (there is an ATM in the gift shop). No outside food allowed but you can exit the zoo, picnic in the park, and then reenter. There is FREE parking and a playground right next to the zoo (it looks new but the day was too hot for us). Looking for a nice activity for the morning or afternoon, then this is the place!

I debated on whether or not to review this gem for fear of crowding. It is a small zoo with a spray park. The animals are well treated and all the major ones are there. The zoo is located in the middles of beautiful public park and only costs $6 per person to visit!

We've been to large zoos all over the world. This may not compete with those, but it is a good local zoo. Our grandkids really enjoyed it and that's all we cared about. You wander around at your own pace, so it can be an all day thing or just a couple of hours. You set the pace.Enjoy.

I was referred to this zoo by a local and was so glad I took my 2 girls (ages 7 and 6)! We did not arrive until about 2:00 p.m. I was kind of nervous about that because the park closed at 5:00 and I was afraid we would not have enough time to see everything. But that was plenty of time. There is a wide variety of animals to see, a little water park (which consists of little fountains the kids can splash around in), typical park food for purchase, an animal feeding area ($0.25 buys you a handful of food to feed goats/alpaca/ducks, (grab some quarters before going in)) and a playground which is outside the zoo. My girls favorite animals were the lions, bear and otter. My favorite was the Rainforest building (try to find the sloths and bats). On a Tuesday, the park was not crowded at all and there was ample FREE parking : )

for such a small zoo this place has so many animals, it is just lovely. The kids loved the white lion and the kangaroos. great zoo!
