Took a drive through the campus heading for the stadium Looks like they have been working on upgrades there. What a complex for the football team! Field have been updated to high quality turf When I was there is was not crowded but looks like all the seats in the place are good.

Nice enough campus but completely open and lack of security is glaring. Very liberal feel and attitude.

We enjoyed our walk through this historic campus. The buildings have a grace and charm of another era.

The Amherst campus in the fall looks like something out of a movie set in New England at the turn of the 20th Century. The view out to Memorial Field is spectacular. Take in the view, admire the statue of Robert Frost and walk into town for dinner and a movie. Now you have done everything you need to do in Amherst.

I wish we'd beaten Wesleyan. Three pass interceptions, a lost fumble and a blocked field goal sealed it, I'm afraid.

If you're on campus, definitely visit Mass MOCA (contemporary art museum), Alive restaurant, the geology museum on campus, and the Mead Art Museum. Take some photos on top of Memorial Hill. Check out the trails beyond.

Visited for 5 days to get my daughter settled in her dorm. What a beautiful campus! I have visited many colleges the past two years (Harvard, Brown, Florida State, West Florida etc) and none were as beautiful as Amherst College. My daughter's dorm room looks like a country club compared to some of the ones we saw (FSU's looked like jail cells). Brown Univ. were terrible & the bathrooms didn't work. At Amherst, she has a beautiful view of the mountains, clean showers, beds, carpet, even hard wood floor in the hallways. The food at Valentine was excellent and the best of all was the polite, wonderful students & parents that we met. Now I know why my daughter choose Amherst College (besides it being the top liberal arts college in the country). Go Jeffs!

The grounds are a bit underwhelming, though quaint. The student center was extremely small, though probably adequate given the small student body. Many students said that most move off campus as soon as possible and eat off campus as well

A beautiful college town in a great setting. Traditional American town with plenty of young people a nd spirit. A lot of new and green construction currently going on.

This college has it all. A great education can be had while living in a quaint college town. Nearby Smith, Mt. Holyoke, U.Mass, and Hampshire colleges ensure a variety of social as well as cross-regisring educational opportunities! THe 5-college bus system connects all these college so a car is not necessary. Th e campus is classic New England and set in a beautiful wooded setting.

A free dinosaur museum in a pretty college setting. What could be better to kill a couple hours with the kids? It's relatively small but we stayed for 1.5 hours. Really took our time. There are drawers the kids can open to see specimens which provides a nice interactive element for the young ones. Plus they supply kid-sized stools so short eyes can see inside the drawers. Clean bathrooms on all 3 floors. Always a spot to sit if you need to. Need to walk a 5-10 minutes to parking, but Amherst College has a lovely campus.

You don't have to be a student of Amherst to fully enjoy the beauty of the campus. Driving through the incredible building and grounds take you back to another place in time.

Great research librarian for the Emily Dion cckinson special collections on the campus.Their holdings are phenomenal!

Beautiful grounds and buildings. Mead Art centre has some wonderful paintings, and a fantastic old section that is a joy to discover. The Chapel is a great example of New England church architecture.

I came for a teacher's seminar, and while the campus itself is beautiful -- just go to the southern field and sit in an adirondack chair in the shade, and you will see what I mean -- the housing and food service facilities are lacking for adult functions. We were housed in a dormitory that had no air conditioning -- even in good weather, those old dormitories get quite hot -- and had shared bathrooms (2 showers for 20 people). We were issued box fans, which helped the heat, but not the horrible beds. The beds were plastic covered, and we were issued 2 flat sheets for sleeping -- plastic, hot weather ... not the best combination. The food served to us for our catered picnic and snack periods was dry and generally tasteless ... when they remembered to provide it at all. The cafeteria was FULL to the brim with screaming children, which we are used to, but for the prestige of the workshop we attended, one would not expect to have to elbow for tables with all the children -- I felt as if I was on cafeteria duty at school. Food at the cafeteria, after standing in horrendous lines (trying to serve too many people in too short a time, most likely leads to the lines and the overcrowded seating areas), the food we received was overcooked and dried out or stewed until it lacked taste. The workshop we were attending was one that only 23 people in the US are chosen to attend. We worked hard to gain acceptance to work with one of the best historians in the USA. Unfortunately, Amherst College left the providers of the conference apologizing for the poor conditions.
