This park has bathrooms, pavillion , playground area, lake, with a trail for walking near it, and several walking trails. It has recently been updated with all new roads all throughout the park and overlooks. It has a ranger station you can tour and weekend activities throughout the seasons. Very nice park to visit, $2 fee spring to fall.

I enjoyed a concert from the Blue Devilz Blues Band one evening. The next day I returned to ride the restored carousel at the park.Old and young alike should visit this park and ride the carousel.

I went on a Monday and so could not get in to see the museum, and just walked the grounds. Nice glimpse of the old canal and the faded glory of mill and factory buildings. Also interesting to walk the nearby streets and get a sense of the history of Holyoke, which is like many New England mill towns that have never quite recovered from losing their late 19th-early 20th century industries. Great antique merry-go-round, which would be excellent for children, so bring your screaming kiddies!

Heritage Park is a nice place to bring a picnic lunch and let the kids run around on the grass. There's a small playground and a merry-go-round from the old Mountain Park. The merry-go-round is usually open on weekends. The park is free to visit but the merry-go-round has a fee. They have part of an old train parked permanently and a few monuments for the people who built Holyoke. The trains used to run right through this area along the canals where all of the factories once thrived. Holyoke Children's Museum is also located here.
