It's a house. The day that I was there (and please understand it was a long time ago), there was no one there. It was a house to look at, and say, "Look, that's where Clara Barton was born."

I have gone to the Clara Barton Birthplace several times. It is a fairly small house just off Rt. 12 and 20. Signs point to where you can find it. Call ahead to see if it is open as they keep odd hours.Usually you will find a period dressed interpreter giving you the history of Clara Barton who was the founder of todays Red Cross and a nurse during the Civil War. There are a couple decent diners in the area too if you want to stop for lunch.

I visited the Clara Barton birthplace in June of 2012. It is located in a peaceful area tucked next to an idyllic summer camp. The tour guide gave me a wonderful tour of the house and I even got to see a document signed by Abraham Lincoln! I learned so much I didn't know about Clara Barton and was impressed with how the soldiers of that era showed so much respect and gratitude to her by making her a quilt. Lovely place to visit.

It is a good place to get more information regarding Clara Barton and her work.
