Great picking of apples, berries, etc all throughout the summer and autumn. Well worth the drive. Very tasty apples. My kids loved the goats and other animals in the little enclosures, too.

Autumn is a favorite time - I have been going to Tougas with a friend for years now and every moment is just amazing as one picks your own apple. Yes weekend is crazy packed but I went there on a weekday and its the best. The staff are great and family friendly. I enjoy their apple cider donut and their ready to go pies- the best frozen apple pie with caramel!

Although my children are both in their 20's I remember so well having a great time in the Fall with them at Tougas Family Farm. Hay rides, pick your own apples, extensive petting zoo with the typical goats, etc. but turkeys all over the place makes it a lot of fun. Lack of children didn't stop my wife and I from visiting this October. Of course we bought apples. I can't imagine apples any better anywhere than New England apples in the Fall. Tons of apple varieties (I am not a big fan of settling for McIntosh apples) and the bag they give you when you pick or buy apples names 28 varieties. The bag outlines which apples are best for baking, eating, etc. and what time in the Fall they are available. I bought a small bag of apple cider donuts, six for $6. A once-a-year indulgence. With no admission price and free parking in a scenic area of Northboro you can't go wrong. Reality is you could stroll around and not spend a penny and still have a nice time just people watching.

We went to Tougas Farm on Sunday of Columbus weekend and the place was packed. At first, we were thinking it was going to be awful, but there is so much to do that everyone is spread out and it was not bad at all. I have to say that I was impressed this year with all the renovations since last year which helped keep people happy. The lines moved quickly and I thought the whole farm ran very organized. I saw a couple of negative reviews about the people who work there, so I want to comment. We had nothing but a good experience with any of the employees that we talked with or asked questions. Everyone was knowledgeable and very patient at the end of a very long day and kind to the children, etc. So, maybe someone had a bad day, which we all do, but in their defense, I think the staff is top notch and helped to make the experience that much better. We tried the kettle pop corn and it was delicious, had lots of fun viewing the animals and playing on the slide and swings, picked some apples and then had fun picking out the perfect pumpkin and taking lots of pictures of a fun time at Tougas Farm. So, thank you for continuing to improve the farm and we will be back next year!

We went on Sunday of Columbus weekend. We had a great time but be ready for a lot, I mean a lot of people!! But they were really efficient at moving people through. There's a fun playground and picnic tables. You can feed the goats and chickens. We had 3 kids under 5 years old and they all had a blast. The doughnut line was ridiculous but the kettle corn line was shorter and sooo yummy. There's a lot to do there. We got there around noon and was thoroughly entertained until after 4.

Just went here for some fall fun. It was a beautiful afternoon so the farm was PACKED! This didn't bother me much but I could sense that this bothered some. We did not pick our own apples but we did purchase some and visited the farm stand. They have everything you could think of (pies, jams, cider, snacks). We mostly stopped here for the apple cider donuts. They are the best donuts you will ever have! I have only been here during September but would love to stop by during the summer months. Also, plenty of parking so don't worry when you are waiting a bit to park. It gets very busy. :)

We had a great time picking apples and eating donuts. The Tougas Farm is very well run and makes for a fun morning. It's fun to try a bunch of different apples and to explore the orchards. Even on a busy day, it was relaxed and easy going.

We had a fun family day apple picking, then the playground and petting zoo. The donuts and icecream were great, but it would be nice to have more options for food. So pack a lunch! But the staff was very knowledgeable about the apples and very helpful.

I go to Tougas at least once a year (apple season) and have always had a great time. They have a wonderful variety of apples in a huge, well organized orchard, helpful staff is always nearby, and then you get to enjoy all sorts of donuts, kettle corn and other snacks if you choose to buy any on your way out. Fun time, and the apples are delicious and way better than any you would ever buy in a grocery store or at a market! I don't have children but this is a great family place with a lot of fun stuff for kids too.

I just visited yesterday and had a similar bad experience in customer service. The lady in question was not only militant in tone but boorish in nature. she said she didnt make the rules and honey if i didnt like it i was free to leave. Going to the extent of saying jeeringly "bye bye". Really really bad behavior. All this because a guest of mine visiting from another country wanted to take a PICTURE of a peach tree. We had already picked blueberries and didnt want to pick peaches. I thought we'd do a picture and buy a few peaches from the store. Acc to the "LADY" we had to BUY a $22 non reuseable box to even LOOK at the peaches! I asked her again just to make sure I heard right. Anyone remember the Aesop fable about the storekeeper asking for money from a boy taking in the aroma of his sweetmeats? - ya guys- the burbs are full of farms. I'm finding another one. Maybe they should charge the birds too! Ruined the experience and shocked my guest.

Was very excited to take our toddler's blueberry picking this morning. As soon as we arrived there was an employee in the field who seemed grumpy. I brushed it off and we voyaged into the blueberry bushes. Our toddler's were so into it and surprisingly very well behaved! There were several older boys being boys and running through the bushes but I honestly didn't pay any attention to it. Within minutes there was a woman yelling, and I mean at the top of her lungs yelling, at our toddlers under the age of three. She mistakenly though the Bush's were shaking because our kids were running through when it had in fact been other boys. My kids were in tears and I went out of my way to speak with the manager who was equally if not more rude. No apologies were given and the experience was ruined. I would never recommend such a place. So disappointing.

There are other farms in the area. Tougas has excellent fruit but their attitude is lacking. It's evident at first by the snotty, rude tone of their facebook updates and perpetuated in person by the perfunctory, unfriendly attitude. Some of the employees are upbeat and positive and seem to appreciate the business. Other people their have a negative attitude that clouds the experience. Good manners comes from the top-I wish they would figure it out.

My husband and I come here at least once a year to pick fruit, and it's always fun. Yes, it seems expensive up front, but I remember the quality I get out of it. Not only am I helping to support a small farming business, but I working with the people who grow my food. This means less of the junk I could get in store bought stuff like pesticides. Plus, I have complete control over what I put in my mouth because I'm the one who picks it.So far my favorite things to pick are blueberries, peaches/apricots, and apples. Who doesn't love fresh blueberries? The flavor is so amazing. Seriously, there is no comparison to the difference in flavor. The peaches and apricots (yes, I know they are different, but they harvest at the same time) are juicy - like you need a napkin when you eat them juicy. The best though are the apples. There are varieties you will never find in stores here. Sure you can get some amazing honeycrisp, empire, or macoun; but you should try out some of the other ones. They apples are one fruit they don't mind you sampling - they just ask that you eat the whole fruit, so go with really good friends or family and share an apple to taste.The people who work there, especially in the fields, are amazing with their knowledge. They love to talk about what they grow there. They'll tell you what's in season and how to know it's ripe (comes in handy when picking the apples you've never heard of before). They'll tell you how to pick the fruit so you don't bruise or ruin it. They are super patient with kids, so feel free to have the kids ask them questions. If you're not very sure footed, it's okay. They have tractors that will take you into the fields. Some areas are more level than others. As long as the weather is nice anyone should be fine to go into areas to pick regardless of assistance devices. You may want to talk to the staff in advance if the person needs to sit. They may know what parts of the field are best for that person to head into in order to more fully participate.If, at the end of the day you are just plain tired, head over to the farm store. You can pick up some fruit there as well as home baked goodies. You can tell people you made it yourself, and no one needs to know otherwise. Do not miss the cider donuts. Just don't. Trust me. om nom nom...

I came here with my mother, son, and husband. The line was pretty long and slow moving to pay. However, the place is well organized. Although there were a lot of people, it never felt too crowded. They charge you per person (but you get this amount credited towards your fruit purchase). It is also a little expensive because they charge you by the pound. If you want a tray, they charge you 50 cents for that as well.I appreciate the fact that the entry fee gets deducted from the price of the fruit. I wish they had a scale near the fruit picking area. It's hard to tell how much fruit you've picked. You want to pick enough so that you get your admission fee back. However, you also don't want to pick so much that you end up spending too much. I ended up picking a little over 8 pounds of strawberries (about $25).Overall, I recommend Tougas Family Farm. It was fun. They also have great strawberry donuts and a little farm area! :) If you plan on going, make sure you go early. Once they run out of strawberries, they close for the day.

While most know for the wide variety of apples Tougas Farms has a lot more to offer than just apples. Other seasonal fruit includes strawberries, cherries, blueberries, peaches, nectarines, black raspberries and pumpkins. The farm is very well run with plenty of parking.
