Ski Ward is very family friendly. We spent three days here during school vacation. With children ages 6 to 8. The lessons were great with child friendly instructors, the snow was perfect, and the staff were helpful and friendly. We rented skis, boots, and helmets from the very helpful rental center, we got warm and ate in the lodge, and we experienced very short lines for the chair lift. It was freezing, but an overall wonderful time for young skiers.

My kids learned to ski here and we had gone the last 2 seasons. This year it seemed like more of the T-bar grab handles were out of commission, causing longer than usual wait times. For what they charge for the lift tickets, they could start putting some money back into the place. The tiny cafe and bathrooms continue to be overcrowded and can no longer satisfy the demand/amount of people who go here. We won't be going back!

This is a great place. So close to the metrowest towns and the runs aren't demanding... the perfect place to learn to ski. The ski instructors are great, especially with children. My son loves heading here for a few hours when he can since it's so close... even after school when he has time.

I am a beginning skier, learning as an adult. I have however, skied at Stowe, Jiminy peak, bretton woods. This is not a mountain. It does however has a lift. The cafe/bar is bare bones. Rice crispy treats, and Budweiser. Old furniture. Disorganized rentals and confusing return setups. Very mom&pop. Staff are friendly but uninformed. Expect to be on skis, that's about it. Which for the price, is underwhelming. I did not go tubing. Kind of like an ice rink for skiing.

Went with a family of five to go tubing, but they told us at the pay booth that conditions were slow and refunds could not be given after you purchase tickets. They did allow us to go and look and because of that we were able to determine that we would not have the fun we expected. So we left, but I did greatly appreciate their allowing us to check it out first. That was extremely reputable and I will go back this season because of this gesture.

The kids had fun tubing at Ski ward yet it was a bit pricey. At 25 a kid, not very reasonable . When we go there they warned us that the tubing hill was not great condition meaning that the conditions are very slow. They warned that the tickets are non refundable and for us to take a look before we buy. The kids did go very slow but they had fun. Half way down the hill , their tube would stop and they would have to get out of their tube and run and jump on to their tube to continue their journey down. You would think Ward Hill would offer a discount on these kind of days ? Good for little ones that may be afraid of going too fast....

The ski slope is great for beginner skiers and snowboarders. Not good for Tubing.Good customer service. Basic lodge.

Family run and it shows with personal customer service and a can-do attitude year round. It's good old-fashioned fun on one of the oldest ski areas in New England. Though small, it's fun, especially for a younger group of kids. Great relationships with school systems for group trips.

Full disclosure: I am biased because I work there, but hear me out. My early season job is to teach the wannabe ski instructors and refresh the veterans. During November/December I get to watch the transformation of naïve high school students into enthusiastic, committed, skilled teachers. When they get their red jacket I know that their students will have a rollicking good time while learning in a safe environment. Couple that with great facilities and terrain, and Ward is a great place to begin.

Three tweens went tubing, not fast enough. They actually didn't make it to the bottom a few times. A good activity but very crowded. I must say the employees went out of their way and were very helpful.

We went to Ski Ward for the very first time Presidents Day 2014 to go tubing. The kids had a blast as did I. The staff are pleasant and very good at their jobs. They made sure everyone stayed safe in the tubing lanes. The tubing itself is great fun. They have a tie rope that will take you up (you can also walk up if you're impatient) and the wait at the top was not bad. The lanes themselves are fast and smooth with no jarring bumps. Highly recommend for young and old. My only con is that I found it a little pricy.

I learned to ski 35 years ago at Ward Hill and all my kids have learned there. It's only about 300ft of vertical so don't expect a mountain. The lift tickets are expensive given the size, but it's a great place for kids to learn to ski and go on their own. Getting a season pass in the summer is the best option as it's offered with a high discount. They installed a nice bar area in the lodge that allows you to see most of the hill and watch your kids from inside if you want. They have a pretty extensive terrain park with an airbag jump as well.Sunday AM and Thurs PM should be avoided as they are days the local Race Teams are there and it's extremely busy and the racers tend to be a bit oblivious of the other kids on the hill when not on course.

Good ski hill to have in town. My sons school did lessons there and he enjoyed them and improved his skills. Good lodge and also a good place for lunch/dinner in the summer. Nice to eat outside and enjoy the greenery of the ski slope. They also have tubing both in the winter and summer.

Water slides, snow boarding--depends on the season. Family-run and always fun for kids. Most families drop off children for a couple hours of safe fun. Nothing's dangerous and everything's close by. Food services are very typical for this sort of small operation. Nothing gourmet, and you wouldn't expect to find it here. But for burgers, fries and drinks, they have it.

A great place for everyone to enjoy, whether you are an avid skier or a beginner. The price range for the slopes, training and rentals are all within a modest family budget for the entertainment. Rental equipment is exceptionally great. Its worth checking out the site online and seeing the discounts offered. Perfect place to learn to ski or snowboard. The snow tubing slope is superb. Great place for single parents to entertain kids. The ski staff provide exceptional training for all ages. Definitely worth the trip!
