We ended up here because the bowling alley was too crowded. Bought a movie ticket just to get in to see the museum and it was worth every cent. The art is of course weird and bad, but the descriptions of the art had me rolling on the floor with laughter. The person or persons who write that are the true artists.

They call it bad art, but in truth I have seen worse at the Met and the MFA. I wouldn't go out of my way to see this exhibit, but if you are in Davis Square and going to see a show, you should spend a few extra minutes and check this out. It is not nearly as bad as the name suggests. I found several of the pieces in very bad taste, and others were really very good.

My primary purpose is to reiterate that the museum has been in Somerville for years. It is not in Dedham. Another review correctly details that the museum is inside the Somerville Theatre and admission to a film gets you admission to the museum. That also means if you want to just see the museum you must buy a ticket to a movie. The museum is small and humorous and located in the basement. It is elevator accessible. The lobby concession stand has excellent ice cream!

This place is not hard to find - get off at Davis (red line - north) and head to sommerville theatre. You deifnitely won't be able to miss it because its huge compared to the things around Davis Square. FYI - MOBA is INSIDE the theatre. so you would have to purchase a ticket for a show to get into the display. It threw me off a bit that it was at the basement, next ot the washrooms. This little area that has about 20 art pieces. The description of each art piece is sarcastic and hilarious. Whether or not this may be worth the trek is debatable. Although with one ticket, we were able to watch a movie in an actual THEATRE (with a stage and balcony, etc), and visit MOBA. A ticket is $6, and make sure to purchase a show that is in theatre #1 or else you would be stuck in a small cinema.
