Even though it was a bit rainy, I thoroughly enjoyed the authentic costumes and old English dialogue. A bit touristy but was fun and very informative.

Having had a great three days on the Boston trolley buses we decided to use the bonus Boston tea party tickets we were issued from the Trolley bus. Thinking it would be possibly nothing special, We could have not have been further from the truth. From the moment we presented ourselves at the ticket booth we were warmly greeted by the staff and proceeded to the meeting room. The tour took just over two hours for the entire tour .Anna was our guide and being an actress she played the part extremely well. The tour was fantastic and very informative. The re enacting of throwing the tea overboard was also very symbolic. The visit to the tearooms is a must and try the different teas available.I would highly recommend the Boston tea party and museum as a Must do visit in Boston.Well done and thank you for making our trip to Boston memorable. Please allow at least three hours to see everything they have to offer.

Our tour guides kept urging us to visit the Tea Party Ships and Musuem. We took their advice and are the better for it. This new museum is as close to the site of the actual Boston Tea Party as it could possibly get. The tour is done SO well, is engaging for children and adults. It starts at what is meant to be a replica of the Old State House, by costumed actors portraying patriots, rallying the crowd to action. It then proceeds to the replica boats, where children get to throw "tea" overboard, and a costumed guide uses humor and historically accurate information to engage and inform the crowd about the Boston Tea Party, and ship life in general in that time period, including a tour down below the boat. From there, the tour enters the museum where some high-caliber effects are used, culminating finally in seeing a remaining tea chest from the Boston Tea Party, and learning about the history of the chest and how it came to be in the possession of the museum. There are a few surprises along the way that are truly delightful. My kids (9 and 11) and husband (who is not easily impressed) are still talking about this site. Following the tour (about an hour) we took a break in Abigail's tea room...Make SURE you make time for this (30 minutes or so). My daughter and I had the tea sampler. For the modest price of $2.50 we got to sample three teas, and then have a full cup of our favorite, in their beautiful little dining area. The tea is self served from gorgeous, formal copper pots into actual tea cups. My daughter LOVED this experience, including serving herself, and the fun little honey dish used for flavoring the tea. We also had sandwiches, soup, and cookies. The grilled cheese sandwiches got two thumbs up. The soup was excellent...as were the cookies. We got the Red Coat Velvet cookie, the triple chocolate chip, and the peanut butter cup.....WOWWWW. These cookies are NOT to be missed. After getting our fill, and enjoying the view from the dining area, we went to the wonderful gift shop and purchased some mementos. They have a nice selection of books, for adults and children, inexpensive postcards, and all kinds of little gifts (including, of course, tea tins). Oh, one last thing....Their restrooms are clean. This is IMPORTANT for tourists. =)

I was recently in Boston for training and spent the weekend exploring the city. At some point, I had discovered this tour and decided to give it a shot. I'm so glad I did! For a little under $25.00, this tour is an absolute bargain -- you get to tour replicas of historical ships, polish up on your Tea Party knowledge and interact with some great character actors. The overboard tea-throwing, the talking gallery portraits and the chest were memorable highlights. If you're ever in Boston and are looking to check out some museums, etc., I would definitely recommend this one.

Great experience. The hosts were in costume and also spoke in what we can imagine would be the language of the time. They made it involving for us by giving us cards explaining some of the Tea Party participants and assigning us 'roles'. On the whole, a great experience. The tea room inside is great and a great way to square up the 'Tea party' by sipping at the 4 different types of tea you get to taste :-)

I am a history professor, and I love that this is an interactive and informative museum that makes learning about the Boston Tea Party fun. It's is serious when needed, but having participants take on the role of real tea party patriots made it so engaging. The actor who played Sam Adams when we went through put on a stellar performance. All of the employees were upbeat and obviously enjoyed playing their parts. It is worth the money to throw tea off the ships, visit the museum and watch the well-produced films.

Did this 1 hour tour with my teenage son and we both enjoyed it greatly. The actors were very talented, stayed in character, seemed to be having a good time, and really pulled you in. Through their stories, tours of the ship, a brief hologram-style film, and then a wide screen short movie presentation, visitors are walked through history from the motivations for the tea party through the events that followed and the start of the revolutionary war. It was just long enough to be informative and not too long to be tiring. We stayed after for tea and a game of checkers in the tea room (ask what the teas are before you try them! Some are really different :) The gift shop, although touristy as expected, was actually quite fun. I very highly recommend this, and it was quite family friendly too!

I went on this tour solo - now I want to take others back with me! Your tour starts as a "town meeting" in December 1776, you're assigned a role (a person who was part of the events,) and the guides take you through the replica ship and museum as if you're part of the rebellious crowd. The guides/actors were funny, our main guide (playing Mrs. Anne Bradley) had an amazing memory and remembered the names she had assigned everyone. It was the most interactive, fun museum I've been to, and it presented the material in a neat way that really sticks with you. It takes about an hour with tours running every 30 minutes. Highly recommended. Do a search for a Groupon before you go, I saved a couple of bucks by buying my ticket through them! There's a tea room at the end of the tour if you want a snack, and a quaint gift shop.

This is a great museum. It takes about an hour to complete the tour. You get to be involved with the story of how the event came to be. You go into different rooms and go on a replica of the ship and toss the tea into the harbor. I had so much fun and will definitely come back to do it all again!

Staff was knowledgable and friendly. They made history fun. The whole experience was about an hour. Then enjoy a snack at the tea room and visit the gift shop. Very enjoyable.

This was a fun informative tour that she'd a little more light on what really happened during this period of time in history. The actors (guides) were knowledgable, engaging and funny. Highly recommend.this. It's very family friendly.

My family went on this tour and absolutely loved it! They "take you back in time" with the actors portraying characters from 1773 and include you in it! You get to be a part of the people wanting to over throw King George's tyranny and taxation, see the ship, and watch a film about it! Wonderful 1 1/2 hours spent!!

This tour was so fun, my son (aged 9) and I took it twice. The staff - dressed up as historical figures like Sam Adams and the wife of a Boston Tea Party instigator - were extremely knowledgable, enthusiastic, and good at acting. Highlights of the tour were: the chance to throw bales of tea in the harbor; an opportunity to explore below deck; and seeing characters come to life on screens to react to events. We enjoyed shouting "fie!" and "huzzah!" We will never forget the story - very educational! It cost us about $40 for our tickets. There's a tea parlor that serves hot drinks and snacks like pastries attached.

We went to the Boston Massacre reenactment at the State House tonight (3/7). We stood by Katherine from sales, and tour guides Moses the wallpaper salesman and Ann (Bradley? She hosts revolutionaries in her home). They were INCREDIBLY knowledgable about history and enthusiastic about your museum. Kevin (a manager) answered a million questions from our daughter in a kind, age-appropriate, informative way. These people are wonderful representatives of your museum and got all of us excited about history. We will visit your Museum because they were such enthusiastic ambassadors.
