We spent a few hours reading books and enjoying the old (Carnegie) part of the library. The library will soon be moving to another location.

Great, cozy space. They also have a free book swap area in the foyer. I always take a book/leave a book when I visit.

Hurry up and see the old Carnegie library before they move into there new library. A classic public library with internet, books, and news papers to enjoy. Not to mention friendly library staff ! You can even get a free library card as a Massachusetts resident, or a small fee for outside residency. I would recommend getting one if you plan a long stay. That way you can leave the books at home and borrow theirs.

Great books, nice librarians and plenty of other media. Cool place to escape the crowds and the heat in summer. Get a book bag and support this gem!!!

As a Massachusetts resident, sign up for a temporary library card and grab a book or DVD for later at the hotel.

The kids ran out of books to read (huh?) on vacation... we were able to get our own CLAMS card and check out books for them, cookbooks, for me, NYT crossword puzzle copies every day... The children's resource librarian stands head and shoulders above any other we've met: her patience with the wiffle waffle pre-teens was honorary... we will be back again next year....

We enjoyed a free jazz concert on the front lawn on a Thursday night. It's nice to have the wifi available there, and it's conveniently located in town. Nonresidents can get a temporary card for $10, which might be worth it if you're staying for a while or if you will check out a lot of materials while you're there.

Cool and comfortable, go in and read up-to date papers in comfortable chairs . Free Wi-fi and free 15min on their computers if you don't have a smart phone I guess most people do these days but convenient for oversees visitors. Very helpful staff who are used to all nationalities.Off season they screen some great movies ( Downton Abbey) WITH refreshments!!!

Dropped in on a rainy Friday morning and stayed for 2 hours. The librarians organized an impromptu story hour and coloring session...very nice little play area and accommodating staff.

Beautiful building. It is a small town library. It felt nostalgic. It is a quaint little library new Vineyard Square Hotel.

Financed by Andrew Carnegie on land donated by a resident, the handsome brick Edgartown Library sits on North Water Street on your walk to the Lighthouse. Very attractive set back from the street with benches in a parklike setting. WiFi, too!

Perfect esp if you bike ride and need public restroom which the Vineyard seems to lack. People are friendly. Clean and cool as well.

This gem of quiet amidst the hustle and bustle of the edgartown main strip is a welcome and much appreciated refuge!
