I also worked there part time, so that gives me a different perspective I believe. A good venue for concerts!

While this venue does book some good artists, and can be a delight on a warm summer evening, there are a lot of drawbacks:Seating under the pavilion is generally good and views are adequate from most spots. However, prices are steep considering that all concerts have a set ending time. This is especially true when there is a triple bill (the main act may only perform for an hour). Unless you simply want to go hang out with friends, don't waste your time on lawn tickets. The view of the stage is non-existent and the pitch of the hill is uncomfortable. Stay home, put on some music, and eat/drink your own food and you will probably have a better time.Food/drink are very pricey. Ladies room lines are long and the facilities are not well tended. The worst part is that there is virtually no accommodation for disabled guests. Yes, they have designated parking and a few wheelchair accessible seats, but the distance between parking and seating is at least a 5-10 minute walk. This is a venue for healthy folks who can easily walk without discomfort.Expect to have a wait as you leave the parking area. And pray that it doesn't rain.

I've loved Merriweather for many years! My first concert at Meirrweather was Depeche Mode for the music for the masses tour. I've seen New Order with PIL and the Sugarcubes, Buffett, REM Green Tour and lately I've saw the Killers, Fun., Of Monster and Men, Grouplove and many many more. We like to pre game at Clydes and Union Jacks. I love a Friday or Saturday night concert at Merriweather. Great place to see an outdoor concert. Looking forward to many more. How about a 90's grunge type festival instead of M3?

I stopped by the box office about a week before the show I attended to pick up 2 tickets to avoid service charges. There was no available parking spaces that weren't handicapped. This didn't make any sense. Do they not want us to park and buy tickets? I paid $45.00 for each lawn ticket for a friend and I to see the Queen + Adam Lambert concert on 7/20/2014. This is way too much to be charging for a lawn ticket. For $45 we should have been able to sit under the pavilion. What a rip off!The concert was packed, concession stands had an extremely long wait, and the restrooms were completely disgusting. They charged $10 per cocktail. There is no lighting in the lawn section so it's very easy to walk on other people's things and trip, especially with alcohol, or is that part of the experience? I couldn't see any of the performers on the stage from where we were on the lawn. I'm not sure why I agreed to go to this concert with my friend. I don't even like Queen except for maybe 2 or 3 songs. I didn't have a good time... what a waste all around.

Huge space, lots of trees, great place to attend a multitude of events. Fantastic gem in Howard County, can't wait to go to a concert here!

Been to the MPP a few times for the M3 Rock Festival and I absolutely love it. Great views from everywhere, great acoustics and the second stage was much better positionally for the size of the crowd. Beer and food prices are inline with most concert venues with a decent selection. Restrooms are plentiful as well. Hope M3 continues on cause its one he'll of a party!!!

Great place! Great Staff!!! I love the Post!!! Make sure you are in the pavilion ant on the lawn! get a seat and enjoy yourself!!

Was there 7/20/14 for the Queen + Adam Lambert concert. We had seats under the pavilion and they were great. We weren't crowded. The weather was very nice but the large ceiling fans kept the air moving as well. Been to many shows, so drink prices were not out of line with what I expected them to be. Staff was all very friendly. Bathrooms were clean. My only complaint is the path leading to the venue. It is broken asphalt. Makes for difficult walking to the concert in the daylight. Makes for downright dangerous walking after the concert. There is NO lighting, so you cannot see where you are going. I can see how people could fall and get very hurt. A guy walking next to us turned on the flashlight on his phone so we could see. They really need to get that fixed ASAP...repave the pathway to make it smooth and flat and install lighting the whole way. Once that is fixed I would no issues giving the venue 5 stars.

Lawn is kinda far but a good time but you need seats when attending, sound is so much better under the roof

Merriweather Post Pavilion is a wonderful place to attend a concert, especially when attending with children. It feels very safe, boasts plenty of staff, is clean and has a great variety of food options. In addition, there is no replacement for watching your favorite band and also feeling the soft evening breeze blow through the audience. Unlike many venues, there is nothing cramped and stifling about the Pavilion. It is hands-down a delightful place to enjoy music with your family.

I love the Merriweather Post Pavilion when I see shows. We go when Phish plays and the venue is pretty clean with plenty of port-a-potties and also real bathrooms if you want to wait in line for a flushable toilet (which I do). The venue is gorgeous with lots of food vendors and beer for sale. The sound is good and we always get lawn tickets. It's hard to actually see the band from the lawn unless you are close to the pavilion, but there are big screens everywhere and you can see that without any problems. I really like this venue. But beware, it is very hilly and it's quite a hike getting into it and walking around as well if you are not very mobile (wheelchair or ederly, etc). I would give this place a 5 but was very disappointed when we tried to leave. There must have been 2 or 3 gates to leave through and it got very crowded and almost suffocating while you are inching along to the exits. There were like 20+ gates open when we got in at the beginning of the concert, so I'm not sure why there's only a couple of gates open to leave. I was a little scared being so crunched in while leaving. But other than that, I really like this venue. Plus there are free water filling stations inside the venue, so those people that complain of the expensive water, you can get it for free at the filling stations.

It's a concert venue so obviously, it'll be crowded. It's a concert venue, so obviously, the food and drink will be overpriced. But once you and your posse have staked out a picnic space and settled in, it's a great way to spend an evening with friends and/or family outdoors.Tailgating is common. Portapotties are nearby in the parking lot. Bathrooms are easy and accessible inside the venue. Stage is hard to see but the sound is top notch.

The tickets said that the show started at 6:30pm but didn't start until almost 8:30. We were using a wheelchair and had a very difficult time navigating the terrain. Hills to get in and out, hills to get the restrooms. In the 4 hours plus that I was there, I had 1 bottle of $4.00 water so that I wouldn't need to use the inaccessible bathrooms!

This is a great venue with great acoustics. Saw Queen + Adam Lambert and the sound was great even in the back. Bought tickets at the box office (lawn only no lawn chairs) and was told the time on the ticket 6:30 pm was the time the gates would open. The concert would start around 8. Planned for big crowds so was not disappointed in any way. Parking and exit could be messy and take long. Go for the show.

Flew in from out of town for the Queen concert July 21. Concert was great as was the audience AFTER everyone got in. Confusion reigned from start with several times listed on ticket, email invites, staff etc. as other reviewers have stated. Long lines of confused people with almost no help from the staff. Tensions approached boiling point several times but people did know when to back off. Kudos to the locals. Perhaps site not used to large clouds? If that is not the case, this is not the way to operate. Site itself is beautiful, sound was great even if view of stage is very limited from the lawn. Operators should contact Starlight Theater in KC to see how concert crowds can be moved.Mike M.
