west meadow park

Poorly drained. They never should have built a park in swampy area. The roadway and walk path are too narrow and cars do not obey 10 mph posted signs so you have to walk in the grass to avoid being run over. There was black ice on Monday. And today the park was closed. Instead of making it safe to walk, I guess they just closed the gates. It is too bad the city of Elkton does not take more interest in Meadow Park. It could be made into a nicer area.

Floods every time it rains. County doesn't take care of park. Local park where kids play soccer on weekends and people walk around track for exercise. There is a playground and several pavilions.

This is a good size park with a 1-mile? jogging path all around. Yes, it's also a car path but going the opposite direction. It has 3 separate playground areas, 1 big one with multiple slides, swings, and rock wall, and 2 smaller areas for toddlers. Plenty of parking, lots of trees for shade and benches, a sand volleyball court, and picnic pavillion. I bring my 2-yr old all the time when the weather is dry. It does get swampy after rain, but so are many other parks. I find it enjoyable, and yes, pets are allowed.

There is a nice paved narrow road that is much improved over the dirt road that it was in the past. However, you share it with cars and have to be aware of the traffic. There isn't much playground equipment.

the slide was defaced with some really bad wording my kids noticed right away. Another parent let their 3yr old just pull down his pants and pee in the grass. left right then and there and went to Lums Pond in DE.
