We decided to try Go Ape in preparation for our trip to Costa Rica where we anticipate doing zip lining. The first three stops went fine. I did not realize that I had fear of heights until I realized that I had reached a point of no return - that is I just have to swing forward because I cannot go back....My husband had no problem at all and had a blast. Most participants seem to have a ball and I may be a minority. Just be careful if you are one of those who have a fear of heights ... this is not for every one.

I'am seriously scared of heights but with the support of my co-workers was able to complete GO Ape and it was all worth it. The view from the zip lining was very beautiful.

We had a great time here during a family get together. Our group of 13 ranged in age from 13 to 52 and it was fun for all. The staff does a great job with training/safety instructions and after that they let you go off and enjoy! Lots of different obstacles and some great zip lines. Not for those with a fear of heights. We all had a fantastic time and would definitely go again. The price might seem high but it is well worth it!

We spent an afternoon having an adventure in the treetops with Go Ape! This was the second time I've been to this location (the first was several years ago), and both times I've come home very happy with my experience. After checking in and signing the safety waiver, a staff member gives you a thorough briefing, including a practice wire at ground level and a basic obstacle a few feet above the ground to make sure you've internalized how to clip in safely. Each harness has two carabiners and a pulley, as well as an additional metal loop on the waist belt to use on a few obstacles. Go Ape uses a color-coding system, and the dual carabiners ensure that you are always clipped in to something while transferring from obstacle to obstacle. It's up to participants to continually check the equipment to make sure they're following proper procedure, but the staff members will yell up from the ground if they see something amiss. The 6 sections of the course consist of ladders to get you into the trees, a few obstacles strung between trees, and then ziplines to get you to the ground. The obstacles are varied, consisting of Tarzan swings, bridges, tubes, and more. Although some obstacles are similar to each other, no two are exactly the same. The ziplines are fun, and a couple of them are long enough to give you a good ride with time to really take in the surroundings. One of the ziplines starts you off balancing on a skateboard deck, and then you're whisked off the board and carried down the second part of the line while the board retracts back to the platform for the next participant.I'm a little afraid of heights, but the safety features gave me the confidence to navigate the whole course. Three of the sections had alternate paths so you could adjust the difficulty of the obstacles yourself. I chose the more difficult sections on 2/3. Next time I think I might go 3/3! Not only did I have a fabulously fun time, I also came away with a feeling of self-confidence after doing so much scrambling around above the ground! The experience was certainly an adventure. My nerves almost got the better of me a few times, but I didn't feel unsafe/like I would be seriously injured at any point. At more than $50 a person, Go Ape isn't cheap. But with 6 sections of course, taking several hours to complete, the value is good. Be sure to make a reservation, and allow plenty of time to navigate through the course. I would absolutely visit again!

We have lived in Rockville for over a year...and i can't believe it took us SO long to Go Ape! We had so much fun! It is better than a zip line course because the obstacles are challenging, even for people who do like heights. The price seems steep at first, but the safety/training staff is excellent and the course is great fun.

This place is EPIC!My sister and I heard of this place when it was mentioned in the news about a month ago, and being new to the area we figured we would try something adventurous. Therefore, we went the other day to Go Ape!This place is perfect for pretty much anyone who is interested in having a little fun, exhilaration, and a minor work out (or major if you're a tad out of shape :)). Go Ape! is literally a giant outdoor treehouse adventure where there are ladders to climb, ropes to swing from, miniature obstacle courses to cross all while suspended up to 4 stories in the air, and the best part is that each course ends with a zipline finale. When you first sign up you will be lead by an instructor who will go over all the safety features as well as the different clips and where they go. The 30 minute instruction is helpful because it contains both a verbal lesson followed by an actual practice session. The information is very simple and they make it very easy for you to remember which clip goes on where - it's color coded. When I went there were a few thirteen year olds who had no problem following direction so don't worry, you won't get lost or confused. After the practice you are sent to the first course with one of the instructors watching from the ground. After you complete that course you, and whoever else you're with, will be on your own to complete the rest of the courses. There are a total of five courses...or maybe six. The average time to complete the whole course varies on the speed at which you rush through it. Some people take their time while others like to race the clock. The instructors say it can take about 2 - 3 hours for the whole thing, which is pretty accurate. My sister and I got started around 12 and we finish just before 2pm. We were racing the clock. Also, there's no need to bring water bottles because the beginning of each course has a water jug with paper cups. In addition, if you have family members who just want to watch, there are dirt trails all over the place where friends and family can watch their loved ones hop and swing all over the place. It's a very safe place and very fun. Anyone can do it. As long as you don't have any issues with climbing a ladder you will have the physical ability to complete the rest of the courses. My sister and I are definitely coming back here in the near future. It's a great place for team building, a first date ;), or just with a bunch of friends or family members. As long as you are feeling up to a little adventure and some risk I'd recommend you check this place out. It's definitely an experience you won't forget, and unless you're afraid of heights, it's one you absolutely will not regret.

This was a great afternoon spent outside. We were a group of four adults. There are 5 full obstacle courses (excluding a mini-training-style obstacle course) - all 6 end in a zip line. One two of the courses there is an option for moderate or extreme challenges. The whole trip took 3 hours. There were lots of laughs, challenges, and some great memories. The staff is fantastic and warm and helpful. They will keep your keys at the front desk. Make sure to wear clothes that you can get dirty and sneakers/boots. Enjoy!

I experienced Go Ape for the first time and it exceeded my expectations. I've recommended the place to several of my friends, co-workers and boss. The staff was courteous and knowledgeable. After the safety/training brief, I felt confident about venturing out onto the treetop obstacles and zip lining. The best obstacle is the Tarzan Jump - NEED TO HAVE MORE OF THEM.I went on a Saturday so the course was a little crowded, but we made it through all six stations in 4 hours. The more the merrier on this event. If you can group of 10-15, it will totally ROCK!!!!

WOW!!!! We had the best time! We went for my boyfriends birthday and of course he was very excited. As for me, I was very nervous about being up in the air doing an obstacle course and then zip lining. But as soon as we had our training with our instructor, I felt so confident. I was absolutely beaming the whole time we were there! We have already started to call friends and family to go back!

We had family visiting from out of town and decided Go Ape sounded like a great way to spend a day. We were right! It was like being on a zip lining adventure in Central America yet we were only a few minutes away from the nations Capitol! It was fun for everyone, as evidenced by the boy and his grandma who were in front of us and having a blast. It is definitely physically challenging at times, but a great way to get outside and try something new! Loved it and have and will continue to return for more adventures!

I went here last week with a friend at 9am. After filling the the paperwork, we were met with our host who put us through a quick safety course. It was very informative and easy to learn. There were five teenagers in the group we were put together with, but our host kindly told my friend and I that we would be able to get in front of them since it was just the two of us.After the safety course, we were off on our adventure! 6 courses, 6 zip lines. The obstacles were so much fun to go through, but by far the Tarzan swing being my favorite! Some obstacles were difficult, and at times gave you the option of taking the easy route out, or go the the hard way. But after the obstacles, there was the zip-line; the reward after hard work. I can't say enough how much fun we had for those 2-3 hours. Best of all, you were completely on your own, it felt great having so much freedom. I would definitely recommend this place, and come here again!

This attraction, by far, is one of the best short adventures I have been on. Myself and the family had no idea what we were getting into, My daughter, afraid of heights, had a wonderful time. My husband, a retired military man found it challenging but fun and my grandson 14, had a experience to tell when he returns home. Two and a half hours of going from tree to tree climbing swinging, zip lining, mazes and all kinds of in the trees apparatus. HIGH in the trees. Exciting, fun and a little scary. We even crossed a road and could look down and see the cars, The instructors let us be, but was always there if we got in a tough position, And they were GREAT! I felt the addrinalin as I climbed the trees and attached myself to zip lines. WOW....For mountain climbers, no big deal....for those of us that want a little adventure...THE BEST. We are going to do it again...and take a few friends with us. Better than an amusement park if you ask me....Ok the down side is......uhh.... you need upper body strength and good legs for climbing, OH and when you zip-line down, which you will do several time, use your butt.....less pressures on the knees :)

My husband and I went to GoApe for a bit of weekend fun and exercise, expecting only ziplines. We were pleasantly surprised by the variety of crossings and obstacles (the Tarzan Swing and the crossing with the rings were my two favorites). Some bits require a tad more fitness than others, but overall I'd say most adults can handle the exertion. The location is in idyllic Rock Creek Park, and is conveniently close to the Rio Center theatres and restaurants for a movie afterwards.

I took my 10 and 13 year olds on a weekday morning. Great time to go, with only 3 other people on the course. Instructions were thorough even my 10 yr old felt ready for the course after the orientation. We had a great time and loved the entire course!
