This is the 5th year I have volunteered for the Md Wine Festival. This year was the best weather we have ever had. The crowd was not that bad, the food was excellent and the wine was tasty with a large selection of Maryland wineries. Check out my blog for pic and write atwinenchocolate dot com

Carroll County hosts their AG fair annually for FREE and this is a great venue to visit with all the perks - livestock, jumping mules, tractors, amazing foods, etc. I am from the City, so this is a real treat for me annually!

My brother just had his wedding here and it was lovely! This is a beautiful place for a country wedding and the barn was fantastic and is a great place for a reception. He had a small wedding but it was perfect! I would definitely recommend this place for someone looking for a country wedding setting.

Always something fun going on. Has events for adults, family, pets and Seniors! Also has classes teaching old fashion ways of farming, making household items, etc. Really a fun place to go on a weekend!

Large grounds to explore with plenty for the little ones to do.Make sure you allow enough time to see it all.

Nice place to have a picnic lunch and let the kids run around and see the animals and wooden train play set. I was excited to have a tour of the house but our tour guide was late and showed no interest in being there. I felt the tour could have been better. We did have fun at the other exhibits though.

I've been attending events at the Farm Museum for years. Some of the annual events are the civil war reenactments, wine festival, fall harvest days, and steam show. It is a beautiful location and I have always enjoyed myself there. Last week I joined my son's class there for a field trip. At first I thought it would be a lame field trip because his school is literally around the corner and most of the kids had been there multiple times. I was so wrong. We learned so much about the history of the grounds and the region. We had the opportunity to really explore the museum features that we never had took advantage of before. We toured the barn built hundreds of years ago, an old cabin that represented a one room school house, and the farm house. We met with a quilter and a blacksmith. All of the volunteers were exceptional. They were great with the kids and were very knowledgeable. All of the kids had a great time.

The Farm Museum is a wonderful community resource in Carroll County. There is always something going on for the family here. This past weekend (April) they were holding a Civil War reenactment. They also host a steam show, a fire apparatus muster, the annual wine festival, and many other events. All are enjoyable and worthwhile. Admission prices vary from event to event.

Attend during an event or book a tour ahead for the best experience. My children (7,2) love it here. Check out the festivals, concerts, classes &csmps that are offered.

a must visit for a day trip around carroll county Maryland......not far from the city of Westminster. a great family trip. always something going on and plenty to see. the schedule includes civil war memories and items of interest. check the schedule of events, such as, wine festival and other attractions like the ag. center, within walking distance. you need not spend a fortune at any of these attractions. check the carrol county times newspaper and on-line ads. there is also a chamber of commerce---close to McDaniel college and other sites all within 10 mile radius.

This is a nice family trip, it isn't very big so it wont take all day. The cost to get in is very cheap and they have events scheduled all year long. Check it out. I have been many times.

Nice place to visit, walk through and see the settings from a bygone era. Educational for kids, adults usually get a kick out of seeing how things were accomplished in the kitchen and on the farm so long ago. If the blacksmith is working at the forge- definitely worth taking time to see and watch.

This was the 30th year for the wine festival. It's a great activity to spend the day tasting wines and eating food. Bring a blanket or chairs and enjoy the music, wine, food and spend the day. Weather was great this year.

A friend's son will be having his wedding here. She's in Texas so my husband and I traveled to the museum to scout out the venue for her, camera in hand. Turns out that we really enjoyed our visit and were glad that her event brought us here. The grounds are beautiful. Various farm buildings held exhibits that we found both educational and interesting. Our tour of the almshouse was a first for us and we've done a lot of traveling. When we arrived, a family of 20 was having a photo shoot in different areas including a covered bridge. Later, we watched as a wedding party arrived. That ceremony was being held in a garden with a gazebo. A barn for receptions is also on the grounds. Lots of room for kids to play, farm poultry and a peacock and peahen were on display as were lambs that day. Tents, picnic tables and pavilions were visible so large groups would be easily accommodated. The September wine festival draws a very large crowd we were told. Not at all crowded when we were there. We had a really pleasant time. Good way for history/farm buffs and families to spend an afternoon.

You must see the farm museum while in the Westminster area-----a family attraction and very interesting. Special events add to the museum (for instance) Civil war re-enactmets, fire works on certain dates, exhibits of all kinds. A great attraction any time of the year.Close to hotels, motels, eatries, and other attractions close to Westminster area> Just a few miles from Gettsburg battle fields
