There are many good tour operators in Djibouti - would recommend avoiding Dolphin Excursions, they are not professional.I was trying to arrange for an individual one-day trip to Lake Abbe. After some back-and-forth, they offered for an expensive ($400) but attractive package. Main reason why I chose them over other operators (at similar price points), was that they explicitly offered an "English & French speaking" guide. I don't speak the local languages and my French is very basic, so this was crucial. They also promised "breakfast, lunch & dinner".The actual trip was disappointing. I didn't mind the old car, that the two guides were chewing Khat the whole trip, that we took other locals as passengers for parts of the ways and even not so much that the "breakfast, lunch & dinner" consisted of exactly one sandwich the whole day.I did mind that the guides spoke exactly zero words English and less French than I do, however! This meant that there was no possibility of communicating. Lake Abbe is a beautiful but pretty big, barren place. Without local input/explanations, you won't get the most out of it. Of course, I'm not expecting everybody to speak English. But I do expect a tour agency that explicitly promises an English-speaking guide for a high price to provide one. My guess is that they subcontracted me out and kept the price-difference. Another indication that they're not well organised is that they couldn't even provide a rough schedule of the day (like expected arrival time) and underestimated the one-way drive time by 3 hours! (I had a better idea than them after some googling). The real disappointment, however, was that they completely stopped reacting to emails after I (very politely) complained. No apology, no refund, not even a refund-refusal - mailbox-silence.Not professional, not worth it. Avoid. There are many other tour operators in Djibouti with better attitude and same offerings/prices.

I took this tour last weekend with my son. The tour was efficiently run and the scenery did not disappoint. My interaction with the staff, in particular Sarah waspleasant and efficient. I can highly recommend Dolphin for their land excursions as well as the marine tours

This may or may not have been the best day of my life! Dolphins are the best mammals in the world and you can ride them and all. One of them bit my daughter but she only bled a little bit. The staff helped clean up the blood and gave her a new shirt. Overall great experience.

I was in Djibouti for a business/pleasure weekend and randomly found Dolphin Excursions in my quest to find a SCUBA diving day trip. The Dolphin staff always replied to my emails quickly and with attention to detail. When I arrived at the boat knowing no one personally, I was actually greeted by name and assisted with the entire process. It was excellent from beginning to end. I met really nice people on the boat. The boat was safe and well-appointed and well-crewed. I'd heard stories about dive gear of suspicious quality at places around Djibouti but had no issues whatsover. I watch the staff maintain the gear and was quite satisfied. The dive staff was all professional and friendly. They made me feel like part of their club even though it was my first time and I might never be back. The dives (one wreck/one reef) were excellent as was the included hot lunch that was cooked onboard.Bottom line - I'm already trying to figure out how I can go back!!!

A faire pour tous les plongeurs et fans du monde sous marin. Djibouti offre des vues magnifiques pour la plongée et surtout des chances énormes de croiser des espèces marines exceptionnelles comme le dauphin.
