I can recommend Marco Polo and safari trip, which we took to Tsavo East with them. We got much better price than through tourist agency. We got very nice guide/driver Michael who was really engaged looking for animals. He knew where the animals can be found. He behaved very conscious when the elephant attacked us! On the way back he showed us local life because we were driving through villages. Very nice trip, very well organized, professional approach! Thank you again!

Marco came to our rental house in Galu after we phoned him and organised a boat trip to the Diani Baobab Sandbank for snorkelling. I believe his prices were fair and reasonable vs the competition and rated against what similar trips would cost elsewhere along the Kenya coast. His attention to detail was great, and he handed us over to a boat captain he works with for the trip itself. If you need it, he'll collect you in his vehicle. Snorkelling itself left a little to be desired, the coral garden is in bad condition, but it was nice to get out in the water none the less.

Very good agency. Two days at Tsavo West (Taita Hills - Saltlick Lodge). Organization was perfect. Very good driver and guide (Michael). Good price.Don’t be afraid of the beach boys who propose Marco’s safaris.

Several times in Kenya and first time with my son.We spend two days in Masai Mara, one day in Shimba Hills, and an afternoon on quad.I can recommend Marco for the service and the price. In Masai Mara you need to ask your driver to go in the bush to see lions, and other interesting wildlife. In Shimba Hills, like in other parks, the interesting times are between 6.30 and 8.30 in the morning and between 4.30 and 6.00 in the evening.

First time Kenya, it was wonderfull. And when you go to Kenya you have to do safari. So we started looking for a trustfull someone who could give us the best safari for the best price, and so we arrived at Marco Polo agency. Marco is a very gently and helpfull man, gave us a lot of information and we had a good feeling from the very first moment. We decided to do 3 excursions with him, and all 3 of them were really excellent. They picked us up at the hotel and from the very first moment we had a connection with the driver who learned us everything about Kenya, its culture and local traditions and showed us really everything we asked for. On safari we stayed at Sentrim lodge and had the best tent of the whole camp, with a marvelous vieuw on the elephants and the beautifull savane, sometimes we thougt we were dreaming. The big advantage of doing excursions with local people is that they don't have a strict programm and everything you would like to see, they do it for you. Back in Belgium two things were for sure, we go back to Kenya as soon as possible because there is still so much to see and all our excursions will be again with the agency of Marco Polo because he gave us a wonderfull holiday.Dirk & Annick from Belgium

Marco Polo Safaris is a local travel agency. We chose it online before going to Kenya, we collected from several offers, but Marco Polo was the fastest and gives us the best price compared to other agencies. We agreed to a meeting at the gate of the hotel and subsequently Marco drove us to his office, where we solved the details and paid for trips. Proceedings were pleasant, fast and professional. His people were always punctual, helpful and friendly and tried to be maximally accommodate to us. The price includes no hidden additional charges. Everything worked to a high standard, according to the agreement, without any complications. Highly recommended Marco Polo Safaris! My wife and my childrens(6 and 4yrs) love it!Tsavo East - Our guide Mike (I highly recommend him ) is a great guy, great driver (it is not easy to drive a car in Kenya) He show us the center of Mombasa and most cared about our comfort and safety. He told us about the animals and the environment, life and nature in Kenya . On safari he was an excellent tracker, showing us quantity of wild animals (lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffalo, jackals, antelopes, timpaly, hippos, monkeys .... We had for our family big Land Cruiser just for us, with plenty of water (free of charge) during the whole trip. During the night we stayed at Voi Wildlife Lodge - a beautiful hotel with great food. Morning game has its own charm, followed by a delicious lunch (included). Wasini - very beautiful boat trip with snorkelling, we saw quantity of dolphins and spectacular underwater world, followed by a wild ride in big waves to the village where we had a delicious lunch. We reviewed the local village and gifted local children.Funzi - very private and authentic experience, the whole trip we did not see any white people :-))) Boat trip in the mangrove river (we saw a crocodile), beautiful moments on a deserted sandy island (quantity shells, starfish, ...) , visit beautiful and clean fishing villages, local school, excellent lunch (lobsters, crabs, fish, rice with coconut sauce, fruits ...). We met our guide family, they are very helpful and friendly people. If I can recommend (as well as Marco said), Funzi trip is the best!

We have spent 3 days in a safaris Tsavo East + Amboselli with Marco Polo Safari. This has been an oustanding experience. Wonderful wild life and excellent tented camps (Tarhi Camp and Kibo Safari Camp), mainly in front of the Kilimanjaro. for the people staying at the Chale Island Sands Hotel and this safari we strongly recommend to book this safari at Marco Polo Safari.

What started out to be a 1/2 day trip turned into a full day, not what we had planned. We had planned to spend 1/2 day on a trip to Funzi Island and were told we would have the boat to ourselves - 4 adults and 2 children. This did not happen. When we arrived to the boat launch, 2 additional adults were placed in the boat along with us, blocking our view out of the front of the boat. We then proceeded to do exactly what they wanted to do all day. The trip cost approximately 20,000 KSH and Marco Polo only offered to refund us 1,500 KSH + some wooden trinkets. I would not recommend his services.

Myself and my 13 year old son have just returned from a 9nt holiday in Kenya. We wanted to do a 3nt safari to Tsavo East, West & Amboseli. After looking at several companies online at home in the UK we booked our private safari with Marco Polo independently, the service we received from start to finish was excellent. Marco himself came to meet us at our hotel when we arrived and drove us to his office to sort out the final arrangements/payments. He also phoned us whilst we were on safari to check we were happy. He was genuine and honest throughout and there were no hidden extras or additional fees added on or any unexpected changes to our itinerary. Everything went as smooth as clock work. Our driver was Patrick, he looked after us really well and was excellent at spotting game and pointing landmarks out for us, nothing was too much trouble for him and his driving skills were second to none. Especially when we almost got charged by a large Bull elephant in Tsavo NP. Anything we wanted he was happy to accommodate.....even down to helping me buy a wooden elephant souvenir. At no point did i feel unsafe or worried & driving in Mombassa is a unique experience!. The lodges we stayed in were all lovely and welcoming. The only thing I will say is that road safaris are very tiring and the drive between Amboseli NP & Diani is a very long way......10 hrs in total which if your travelling with kids is too long a journey. Amboseli has the best views of Mt Kilimanjaro and is well worth a visit but make sure you split your journey. All in all I would highly recommend Marco Polo safaris, they are a genuine company who will look after you and not charge extortionate prices. They are a small local company who really care and ensure that you enjoy your Kenya expereince . I intend to go back to Kenya some day and visit the Masa Mara next time and I would not hesitate to book with Marco Polo safaris again ....

We booked a 2 days air safari to the Masai Mara National Park with Marco Polo Safaris. We were picked up in our hotel absolutely on time, and taken to the Ukunda air strip. Thanks to Mombasa Air, after a 2.5 hours journey, we landed at the Mara North air strip. We stayed at the Royal Mara Camp, wich is one of the best place in the Mara. We saw a lot of animals (elephant, crocodile, hippo, giraffe...etc), excluding the rhino. So nothing bad to say about the company, everything went absolutely well! But the most important: they gave us the best price in Kenya!! Thank you!
